I'm guessing that a "true christian" is any self-professed christian whose very serious sin hasn't yet been exposed?
Former "true christians" were Ted Haggard, Jimmy Swaggert, Jim Bakker, etc.

A true Christian is one who believes in the fact that Jesus is the Son of God, who came to this world to save mankind from his sin nature. We believe that he came knowing full well what was to take place and did so willingly. We believe that He died on the cross, was buried and was resurrected and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father. There Jesus is our high priest. An untrue Christian would be one who denies the deity of Christ and deny His Resurrection. Some deny the virgin birth.

A true Christian is one who has accepted Jesus Christ into their life and has repented of their sins (asked for forgiveness). One who tries to live their life trying to follows Jesus' example and trying to be as much as humanly possible, Christ-Like. One who does not think they are sinless, one who does not judge but will confront a brother or sister when they have gone astray. One who is not ashamed of Jesus and one who willing preaches the Gospel without fear of persecution. One who has a RELATIONSHIP with Jesus.
Yes, there are many counterfeit Christians who say it to either make themselves feel better or who do for "show". Religion is usually just a bunch of rituals done and words said, mostly on Sunday or perhaps Saturday evening, then it is forgotten the rest of the week or even once they walkout of the doors of the church.
A true Christian should be all about a relationship with Jesus!

there are true Christians....
and there are "pseudo-christians".
"true Christians" believe that Jesus Christ is God, that He died on the cross for our sins and rose again from the grave and that Jesus is The Way, The Truth and the Life and NO man comes to the Father (God) except through Jesus Christ. He is the only intersessor needed between God and mankind.
"pseudo-christians" are those who have taken the name for their own purposes, not God's purposes. They do not believe all the above-mentioned things that are required to be "true" Christians.
example: The Roman Catholic Church calls itself a christian organization, yet they displace Jesus from His rightful place as interssessor and replace him with a human priest.
example: Jehovah's Witnesses call them selves "christians" but the do not believe Jesus is God; instead they deny His diety by calling Him the Son of God or prophet of God.
Satan craftily creates false religions as close to the real Christianity as possible in order to decieve the masses. that is why many organizations and sects have usurped the name "christian" when they are no more christian than muslims.

In truth there is no such thing as a "true Christian"--it's a complete contradiction in terms simply because when you adopt the label "Christian"--you are separating yourself from the rest of the human race--which not only contradicts Christ's teachings-eg--"You are the light of the world-"-Matthew5:14--& "what you do to the least among you--you do to me"--so Christ taught we are not separate---Christians pretend they are.

A Real Christian follows all of the Commands in the New Testament. He/she will read, study, and obey what he/she is told to do and will continue to do so throughout their lifetime. Make sense?? I hope so. Have a great evening.

A true Xian is anyone who beleives 100% with whoever the person using that term is. Every Xian is a true Xian at least in their own eyes. An untrue Xian is anyone who disagrees with them in even the slightest way.

Well if you're unpopular then you're not a True Christian. So nazis weren't True Christians, crusaders weren't True Christians, inquisitors weren't True Christians, prohibitionists weren't True Christians, et cetera. And a hundred years from now, televangelists won't have been True Christians, anti-abortionists won't have been True Christians and George W. Bush won't have been a True Christian.

It's the same thing as a True Scotsman.
Check out the link below, if you're not familiar with it. It'll make sense.
