It is written in the Qua'ran.

Another shady thing about Islam to me besides the whole attire of women and granted "virgins" for men in heaven is one of the five pillars of islam: Hajj!

Why? Why is it required to make a visit to a piece of land where "Mohammad" is burried. He is not God and yet it's like worshiping HIM when muslims are required to pay a visit.

If it's a holy place why is it not free? Millions die doing this every year. I am not inexperienced on this subject. I have family members who are muslim, I've lived in a muslim country for 9 years. I have read the Qua'ran. I know it is required for people who can AFFORD to go there but it is a PILLAR which means it is a must.

I see it as a way to make money. Politics. Mohammad was a businessman back before he became a "prophet".

there is nothing in quran about killing muslims who left islam, these are lies made by some muslim kings to kill their opponents.
quran doesn't ask any muslim woman to wear any different than hillary clinton, but not like paris hilton, hijab is a jewish tradition.
there is no virgins for men in heaven, the muslim wife will be very beautiful there and she will live with her husband if they both were good people, he might look different too.
visiting prophet muhammed's grave is not a part of hajj, we just love the guy.
muslims are stupid because they insist on hajj in the same time when muhamed did it, causing crowded, awful hajj, and people get killed. hajj is four months in quran, but muslims stoped reading or understanding it.
quran said that business is a benefit that comes from hajj, god blessed mecca, but the better trade is to be a good person and win paradise, economic is a vital part of life, nothing is wrong with it.

Rubbish. None of that can be found in Islam and you didn't find that in the Qur'an. Read the Qur'an before writing about it.

And you never lived in a Muslim country for 9 years either and you've never read the Qur'an either. How do I know all this? First off, anyone who's ever lived in an Islamic Republic/country for 9 years would have an Islamic education for those 9 years. During those 9 years they would learn the *basics* of Islam and anyone who knows the basics (and has read the Qur'an) would know that it doesn't cost to get into Mecca and that Muhammad wasn't buried there. You obviously lack this knowledge and therefore I know that you've never read the Qur'an nor have you ever been in a Muslim country let alone lived there for 9 years. You just want attention and credibility (that's why you said you lived there) but anyone who knows anything about Islam isn't gonna buy it.

PS. Take advice from the other users and stop the excessive capitalization of letters that don't need to be capitalized. If you think it's gonna bring more attention to the words, think again.

"Notice how NONE of the muslims had any excuse to defend Mohammad marrying young girls!!"

Notice how you didn't mention anything about Mohammad marrying young girls in your question description.

As for Mohammad marrying a 9 year old: It's *not* in the Qur'an. The claim that Mohammad married a 9 year old girl came from the Hadith, a series of books that had nothing to do with the Qur'an and is illegit when it comes to Islam. In Islam there is only the Qur'an and that's the only thing that Muslims should believe, not the Hadith. If you can find that in the Qur'an, post it, but I already know that it's not there. While some Muslims believe the Hadith, others don't. The Hadith was not written based on the God's word and it was not written by Mohammad either. The Hadith was written several hundred years later by men who had nothing to do with Mohammad and all of the stories in the Hadith are based on oral tradition (stories passed down generation to generation through word). And you know what happens with oral tradition? By the time a story's passed down by word for 200+ years, it gets modified and sounds nothing like the original.

Now, for the Muslims who do believe the Hadith, they'll probably tell you that it was okay because 1400 years ago, old men marrying young women was acceptable because it was the way of the time. I however, don't buy that. The Hadith has many errors in it, unlike the Qur'an. That's why the Qur'an is the only legitimate source when it comes to Islam. Most Muslim scholars will tell you that.

Other than that, even if Mohammad did marry a 9 year old, it wouldn't matter because in Islam, you believe in God, not Mohammad. According the the Qur'an, Mohammad was just another man who was choosen to spread the word. Mohammad isn't seen the same way as Jesus is in Christianity. Mohammad was an ordinary man who was given a message to by God. So even if he did marry a 9 year old, that's between him and God. Either way I don't buy it because the source is not credible.

You ask so many questions, I will answer them one at a time.
1) If a person converted to a diffrent religion instead of Islam is because it is as if you are letting someone go in a wrong path.
2) Hajj is not visiting land where it is said that Mohammed has been. It is because of Mecca. Paying a visit to the dead is to show respect, not worship. Now, on Hajj, people go on Hajj to take away their sins from their life and to start fresh again, nothing similar to recarnation.
3) I do not understand the question, "Why is Hajj not free?" part but when people are going on a Hajj, to see Mecca, it is free except that the airlines and other transportation. It IS required for people can afford because, for example, a beggar is a Muslim. They do not HAVE to go because then it would lead to robbing and stealing and killing. That is a sin in every religion. People can afford to go because they have enough money to spare. The Hajj has no cost but transportation does. The rules could bend if it was a beggar. You see, it depends on how the money is made.
4) Everyone was a buisnessman in the old days, it does not have any relationship to Mohammed.

If you are still confusied, I would not mind you asking anymore questions.

First off, Muslims don't worship Muhammad (PBUH). Even though some ignorant people don't understand this, the Saudi Arabian government has placed numerous guards around the Haram el-Nabawi to prevent this from happening 99% if not more of the Muslims who visit his grave do not abuse this, so don't say what you are saying. It's false. Only God is worthy of prayer in Islam because only God has the power to heal or inflict harm on people.

Secondly, People visit their dead relatives at the grave all the time, so why wouldn't Muslims visit their beloved Prophet of God? This is an honor for a Muslim.

Lastly, you are free to believe whatever you want to believe.

However, you are not credible in your accusations. "Millions die doing this every year" is simply a lie and you know it. There are 2 - 3 million Muslims who do the Hajj every year, so how can your statistics be right. Obviously, you have not researched this very well...

Sorry, you don't have a credible argument...

PS: It's written "Qur'an" not "Qua'ran"

Let me start by saying what you said is full of mistakes in geography, history and math.

In that statement
"Why? Why is it required to make a visit to a piece of land where "Mohammad" is burried. He is not God and yet it's like worshiping HIM when muslims are required to pay a visit."

Is completely wrong

In Hajj it is not required to visit his grave, actually his grave is in Madinah 500KM away from Mecca. The rituals of the Hajj are carried out in Mecca. So this is the geography mistake.

As for killing the infidels you can look at the answer I have given to another ex-Muslim at this yahoo link.

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AiJxAmAuEzgVXUrhUb1Y5SXsy6IX?qid=20070125165213AA8PGSM&show=7#profile-info-04ec95e642e7f1daa146ef869a58a086aa

As for marrying Aisha he married her at the age of 13 not 9. And it was the norm at that time for girls to marry at that age.

Another quote from your question is "I also want to add that Mohammad and his right hand Ibrahim?" WHO is Ibrahim his right hand?. I have read Muslim history and I never heard of him. This is the history mistake.

As for your last mistake in math it is "Millions die doing this every year" if this is true you can rest assured that soon there will be no Muslims around to bother you.

God bless

First off -- we don't worship Muhammad (pbuh). Mecca was a place of pilgrimage and it is centered around the rites of ABRAHAM and his son ISAAC and the time that God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son etc. Muhammad (pbuh) is not even buried in Mecca where the Hajj pilgrimage is performed --he is in another city. Mecca, is also known as BACCA in the Holy Bible and has always been a place of pilgrimage.

Furthermore - the title question is the same as asking Christians why they had the Crusades hundreds of years ago. I mean--seriously--there are historical backgrounds that are forgotten with such a question.

Half of your talk is not clear. How is attire a bad thing?
Nuns cover, so why don't other women? Mary, Mother of Jesus (blessings upon her) is always depicted with a headscarf. Wearing a scarf is dignifying and we wear it as a mark of faith and piety as it has been since the dawn of time. How does covering your body as Muslim women do, benefit MEN? It doesn't make sense --men would rather live in a world where women don't cover. Covering benefits WOMEN. Go read a Quran for yourself----as far as I know the Quran is the only Holy Book that over and over refers- 'Oh Believing Men Oh Believing Women' AND it always says that women and men are EQUALS.

Women have issues and struggles all over the world- even in Muslim countries-- but what you perceive as coming from Islam in terms of Women's issues often it is not religion but CULTURE and society that influences roles of women. Many Muslim countries have had female presidents. Many Western countries have not. No need to argue further---

Another thing is--I feel sorry for those individuals that have to resort to disparaging other religions because that only shows their own insecurities in their own faith. If you are secure in your own faith and belief than talk about that and not make false accusations that you have discovered from secondary sources that demonize Islam and not directly from an accurate translation of the Holy Quraan.

ok--well basically --nothing u said is a real islam ---it semes that u heard all that maybe----the women attire--is almost the same christians and jews used to wear---they stoped--we did not---the nuns still cover up-----

there is no reward for killing somebody who converted-----
muslims go to mecca to visit God's house----
Mohamed did not gain anything out of that

last thing nobody is forceing u to be a muslim

I believe it's because every "religion" except Christianity, (Christ taking your place as a sacrifice for your sins), is based on works. Every one of them leaves it up to you to get yourself into heaven or paradise, making yourself a sort of "god." They all infer that you are good enough on your own to get yourself into heaven. You don't need Christ. It goes way back to the garden of Eden when Satan convinced Eve, then Adam, that they could be like God by eating the fruit of the knowledge of good & evil. If they did this they would be equal to God. Every other religion in the world is Satan's way of turning you from worshiping God to making a god of yourself. It's not works that get you into heaven. It's just accepting that Jesus took your place on the cross, so that you don't have to go to hell. He was the only sacrifice good enough to take our place, being human & god, pure, at the same time. We are not good enough on our own, because we are all born sinners. God does not require you to do any works to save yourself or earn rewards, but you will want to do things to please Him when you know how much He loves you. :)

you obviously do not know the meaning or reason for hajj. i dont know why this seems shady to you. if you say that Muhammad (pbuh) told people to do hajj to gain money you are saying that they went there while he was alive which contradicts your whole point of hajj being when muslims going to worship Muhammad (pbuh). we dont worship the Prophet (pbuh) although we respect him very much. if you do not want to believe that, it doesn't really matter.
