Why do i always get comments like "read the Bible because you are obviously ignorant" when i ask about religion, or content of the Bible? Im trying my hardest NOT to be ignorant and if you all just opened your minds a wee bit and helped me understand, i wouldnt have to ask so many questions... im confused about it, and if those who are or have studied the Bible can not answer my questions, where does that leave people like me? Why wont religious people help me understand?

Let me just clear this up... cos people are getting me all wrong and are way too quick to judge me... i am an Atheist... i find it difficult to grasp the idea of the Bibical stories, etc etc... but... i am also open-minded... im NOT here to poke fun at Christians... im curious... if i went to church and said i was curious about religion, and said i was doubtful cos of this that and the other, a priest would not throw me out and send insults my way... a priest would most likely welcome my questions, and help me understand... help me overcome my doubts... im finding it really hard to believe, but no one is giving me the chance... alot of people are judging me... for what?
for being curious, and yes... being doubtful... and wanting clear answers so my mind can be opened more to other peoples beliefs.
Work with me, not against me!

Ask away honey, I'll do my best to help you understand. Though, I have to point out, if ten Christians give you an answer, you'll get ten interpretations of what any verse means.
I know I'll get thumbed down for this, but the botton line is, half the Christians in America know the Bible about as well as you do. I'm not saying I'm an expert or I have have a doctorate, but I do know a thing or two about it. And on a daily basis, I see misquotes on here where people don't know their Bible.

Ask the question I for one, will be happy to give an answer. Just last night a person said just about the reverse of what you are saying. They didn't like long answers with long explanations and didn't like it when Bible chapter and verse were pointed out. Many that answered his question agreed with him and some said they don't even read the longer answers and the ones with chapter and verse denoted...they just give them a thumbs down and delete them without even reading the answer. Post an honest question and/or email me, I think true Christians will offer true answers.

Im so sorry. Im a Christian and im far from perfect... I couldnt quote Bible chapters and verses if you asked me, not even the big ones. But I know what God wants. I know what he has done for me. Just remember that God WANTS you to have questions! If everything were crystal clear then there would be no meaning to the word faith, which is the most important element of Christianity.

When I was reading what your question said I went and looked at some of your questions. I was going to try to answer them..
I was however finding it hard to find what it was in some of them that you were asking...
Like your question
God???
you ended it with saying
"I provide my own blessings for everything I have achieved is all my own doing it has nothing to do with god"
I am not trying to change your mind I try to answer questions that people have.. This however didn't seem to ME that you were looking to find an answer to anything.
I have not called you ignorant and I wish you no harm.. I just would like to answer questions that people are asking about that have to do with God.
Have a good day
and just so you know. I did answer more of your questions.... Using the Bible...

Honey, sometimes people don't want to admit that they don't have the answers either. I have read the Bible and will continue to read the Bible and still don't always get it. You do need to pray about what you don't understand and Yes you should ask questions. Do not automatically accept what you hear. Try different sources. Interpretations can be different on some things. Please do not let a few ignorant responders upset you and please do not give up on understanding. Good luck.
May God bless you.

Many people who call themselves Christians do not understand themselves and so that is the comment they make because they do not know how to reveal a mystery without a word for word Bible explaination. When one understands they can teach in many different ways. This is why our dear Lord spoke and taught so many in parables. I know people on this site can be very rude. I am sorry if you have been hurt.

Maybe you've just run into the wrong people.
But I will say that when you read the bible you do find the answers to questions you have and things you hadn't thought of.
And since you're curious it might not be such a bad idea to just open somewhere (like Luke) and start reading.

I DO have a suggestion: When I was into the catholic church, one of the nuns gave me a bible that was sort of 'dumbed down' I know this doesn't sound nice, but it was written in more modern verse and was MUCH easier to understand than the Shakespeare-esk bible that most of us are used to.
Good luck, and I'm sorry that people are rude.

I welcome all questions regarding Christ Jesus.
This forum however, is not the best place to learn about our Lord and Savior. I recommend getting a bible and search for the answers in it. I would answer any questions you would have regarding Christ Jesus. I will tell you up front, that I am a Born Again believer and I believe that the Holy Bible is Gods Holy Word to all humanity. I believe that Christ Jesus came to this sinful world, to offer Himself as a sacrifice for all our sin. He was crucified and He rose again three days later and now sits at the right hand of God Almighty. Please don't rely on people in these forums to answer your questions, ask Jesus Himself to reveal the answers you seek. Seek His answers through the study of His Holy Word and through spending time with Him in prayer.
I would be delighted to talk with you anytime.
Don't let the scoffers derail you from the Truth you are seeking.
No one who calls you "Ignorant" or who belittles you in anyway, is speaking truth. By their deeds (words) you will know them.
God Bless You....Peace.

I am sorry that other Christians have treated you rudely. I hope you can find people who will give you clear answers about the Christian faith. Perhaps you can find a local pastor who will talk with you.
I do not know it all, but I would be willing to try to answer some of your questions. Email me at coachtopp@verizon.net
