my parents live in alaska so I can attest to how much it costs to fly there. But I've never had to pay $1,000. Where are you flying out of?

I just did a search for flights from where I am located (midwest) to Anchorage for next month and then again for June, and they were all in the $400-$500 range.

Ok should be easy to do....
not really a question, more of a comment.
I just bought RT tickets from Anchorage to Spokane Washington and it cost about $550.
