I wouldn't touch it.

With the Fuji models, we're back in known territory and respectable review sites have something to say. Unfortunately, what they say isn't very favourable...

A345 review: http://www.steves-digicams.com/2005_reviews/fuji_a345_pg5.html
The best thing about this review is that they recommend specific other cameras instead. (Canon PowerShot A520, Nikon Coolpix 4600, Panasonic's Lumix LZ1)

A340 review:http://www.steves-digicams.com/2004_reviews/fuji_a340_pg5.html
Not as bad as the other review, but hardly enthusiastic.

That site also lists their own favourites per budget segment: http://www.steves-digicams.com/best_cameras.html

I'm afraid that's all I can offer. Point & shoots aren't my strength. You'll probably get a ton of recommendations from other people though, and armed with that review site and this one http://www.dpreview.com/ I'm sure you'll be marvellously confused by the end of the day.

timestamp says don'y but a toy. I can assure you that Canon does NOT make high quality cameras in the $100/$120 price range. I suggest spend a bit more like $200 and then do research on Fugis, Sonys and maybe even Canons also. Forget Mustek completely!

all of us understand there are lots of extra appropriate cameras attainable, yet i'm no longer likely to enable you already know which different digital camera or cameras you may desire to purchase somewhat. What concerns maximum is that it somewhat is a low value digital camera and that's low-priced (for you) and it would be completely ok for taking to summer season camp. a minimum of if it breaks etc. that's no super loss. For a stable potential resource, you like rechargeable AA NiMH batteries. severe ability are suitable (2500-2700mAh). If the digital camera use 2 batteries, then purchase 4, so which you usually have a spare set. and that they might desire to be recharged very usually simply by fact their potential drains while no longer used. you additionally can purchase non rechargeable Lithium batteries (jointly with Energizer e2). they are no longer low value, yet final plenty longer than universal batteries. one way of conserving battery potential is to minimize using the flash and flip off the liquid crystal exhibit exhibit in-between photographs (the exhibit makes use of maximum of your battery potential). and don't spend too plenty time reviewing your photos on the exhibit... you will additionally might desire to purchase an SD reminiscence card (1GB will enable around 3 hundred photos or so). format it first...
