All science does is reveal the mysteries of the universe. Carbon dating is a simple and effective method to find the age of an artifact or fossil. If this is an inaccurate way to properly date something, then what is a better way?
If god did create us, then wouldn't he want us to figure things out? Is it not the most benefical part for us, humans, to figure out how the world works. With science, we do just that. We know more about the world than the authors of the bible did, 2,000 years ago.
Or does god want us to be dumb so we don't figure him out.

The most effective method of dating fossils is to close your eyes and open your Bible to a random page. Multiple the page number by ten to find the age of the fossil. Ta-da!

Spot on, old chap. Your second # 1st sentence is exactly correct. There are many ways to figure things out. Sadly, during the past 300 years science and religion have both decided to do it their own way.
The creation story in Genesis is actually derived from the Ugaritic Gilgamesh Epic and the Babylonian Genesis. Both represented the cream of scientific and religious thinking at that time. Humanity struggled to understand the nature of life, purpose, meaning - how to appease unknown god(s). Science and religion worked hand in hand to put down the first, hard won concepts: Chaos in the beginning. Only a struggle of profound forces can bring order. Order is orderly etc.
Given the age and knowledge base, I think they did pretty good. They even got the fish in the water at the right time. Something evolution didn't do for another 3000 years.

Carbon dating works and is knowledgeable to use . if god is a beginning doomed to intellectual remorse . Knowledge and the concept of a god don't mix. And the word is stupid not dumb which would mean mute .
