To understand the answer, you have to understand history. All throughout history the Jewish people have been reviled, persecuted, hated. Why? Simply put, because the church held them responsible for the death of Jesus of Nazareth, called the Christ. It is because of this religion inspired hatred that the first prejudices against the Jewish people turned into the first persecutions of them. From then on, Jewish people have been hated.
As a people, they are no better, nor any worse, than any other. They are human, and subject to the same shortcomings, the same gifts, and the same errors and accomplishments as any other group of people.
And, just in case this answer starts a riot...i am a white, female, catholic

Aish.com, the biggest Jewish content website designed a whole seminar to explain this. You can see it online at http://www.aish.com/seminars/whythejews/index.htm
A great many people simply can’t cope with the burden of being good. However, when they act in ways that are bad, they can’t cope with the resultant feelings of guilt. Try as they may, they can never cut themselves loose from the standards of absolute morality dictated by the Torah. Stuck in this "Catch-22" situation, people turn with their mounting frustrations against the Jews, who they perceive as personifying humanity’s collective conscience.
Sigmund Freud recognized this tendency, and explained: "Jews are hated not so much because they killed Jesus, but because they produced him."
Thousands of years ago, before the Torah was given, people built their lives around philosophies that were based on their own concepts of right and wrong. Then, when the Jews entered the theological arena, they showed people all the mistakes they had been making:
Pagan gods are nonsense – there is only one God for all of mankind, Who is invisible, infinite and perfect. Infanticide and human sacrifice are unacceptable. Every human being is born with specific rights. No one can live as he pleases, for everyone must surrender his will to a higher Authority.
On a certain conscious level, people recognize the Jews’ message as truth. Those unwilling to embrace the truth have found that the only way to rid themselves of it is to destroy the messengers – for the message itself is too potent to be dismissed.
That is what is so irksome about the Jews, and that is why, for some people, nothing less than total destruction of the Jews will do. If Judaism were just another ideology, people could laugh it off and continue on their merry way. But deep in his soul, every human being recognizes the essential truths of morality – people can’t just laugh it off.
Any individual’s claim to superiority bothers people only to the extent that they believe it is true. If someone who is indisputably ugly saunters up to a nice-looking fellow at a party and says, "I’m better-looking than you," what would be the other’s response? More than likely he would simply shrug his shoulders and ignore him, because the comment would not bother him in the least.
If, on the other hand, the best-looking guy in the room comes up to the same fellow and makes the identical comment, that will raise his dander. The reason is that one doesn’t resent people who say they are superior; one resents people who are superior.
That is why the Christians’ hatred of the Jews was particularly intense. They, more than those of other religions, were threatened by the Jewish message. Jews said that Jesus was not God. This statement assumes a "wrongness" about Christianity. The Church Fathers understood that if the Jews are right, and they remain Jews, this implies that Christianity is bankrupt.
Therein lies Judaism’s colossal threat to Christianity. Other groups’ denial of Jesus is a great disappointment to Christians, but the Jews’ denial is intolerable. Jesus came to the Jews! The very group that produced him, those people who had the most knowledge and authority on such matters, those who represented the last word on religion – were the first to reject Jesus.
The Jewish threat to Christianity has nothing to do with their having "killed" Jesus. The source of Christian fear runs much deeper: Jewish existence invalidates the essential tenet of Christian theology.

That is a great question. It's interesting because the jewish people have some of the oldest traditions and beliefs and Judaism is one of the oldest religions. Yet they are still some of the most abused people in the entire world....throughout history!
Hitler's parents were jewish, yet he was in power during the holocaust. And this wasn't the first time! During the russian rev. Stalin would kill the jewish. And for what?
It is all based around religion. People are racist, and racism varies. It could be sever such as the holocaust or minor such as saying things like "all red necks are morons." (this is not a personal view, and i apologize ahead of time if anyone is offended)
Even if we don't know it, as HUMANS we are racist against one group or an other. But this is human nature. The problem that the jewish face is that the jewish people are.....different. They don't belive in Jesus as chirstian religions do, and for communist views, they were religious (religion was demoted in communist states).
So I think it's safe to say that the jewish are so disliked because as humans we are racist against a common view....not so much the people.
NOTE: i am not against jews, some of my best friends are jews, but this is just my view.

A large reason is sadly, their history and culture. The Jewish people have a strong tradition of self determination, making them resistant to cultural absorption by any of the dominant powers that they were subject to.
This self isolation from society has left them vulnerable to prejudice, and many unscrupulous leaders from many levels exploited the ignorances and insecurities of people to make them targets. The worst case was the Nazi Holocaust, which cost the lives of over 6 million European Jews.
However, despite all the trials and tribulations, Judaism thrives. Jews have maintained a rich cultural integrity much longer than any of their contemporaries (they originated in 1800BCE) and currently are located around the globe.
And as to the myth that the 'Jews killed Jesus' excuse...the Jews were persecuted long before Jesus walked the earth, and the people responsible were from both sides of the divide. Jesus himself was of Jewish descent.

Well I guess it started out because as a predominantly Christian culture, the Jews rejecting Jesus is where it began. But on a more societal note, they are stereotyped. Stereotypes are unfair to many, but are there for a reason. They are notoriously thought of as "cheap". They make a lot of money, but are stingy with it. Also I think many people frown upon them because there are very few orthodox Jews who actually practice their beliefs, which means they sort of just "pretend" at spirituality. (this can be said of MANY other religions also) From a personal standpoint, I would not have believed the "cheap" thing, if i didnt' experience it for myself. I used to bartend functions at country clubs and such. If there was a bar mitzvah, NO ONE wanted to work it , because you got NO tips!!! It was unbelievable. Its was that way 100 percent of the time. So it isn't a fluke. But personally, I don't know how cheapness became part of their culture. I have nothing personal against them.

That would depend on where you live. Not everyone dislikes Jewish people. Think about why doesn't everyone like blondes, why do red heads have such a reputation of being quick tempered. I think people often don't like others because they are different and they don't understand the differences and are fearful of the unknown. They also are subject to previous reputation of situations and people. You may be fearful of being snake bit b/c you have heard snakes bite. Hitler didn't like Jewish people and managed to convince others that Jewish people were beneath him and that sterotype continued unfortuneately.

The short answer is that God has given us many promises, most of which concern the children of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. If Satan can destroy every Jew, he destroys the promises, and can call God a liar. Thus, he works at every point to convince us gullible humans to help him afflict and destroy Jews. Nothing personal, mind you, it's only a war, where all is fair.

I've never understood that, either. Jews don't fly planes into skyscrapers, there are decidedly few Jews committing drive-bys, and nobody's trying to make me learn Hebrew. They're OK in my book.
