I am a teacher at a home daycare. Every month, I like to decorate the daycare for each month. For example, I have cupids and the childrens' pictures ready to be placed in hearts for Valentine's Day. Do you have any creative ideas for St. Patricks Day.

Instead of St. Patrick's Day, why not focus on the coming of spring? You could do an "in like a lion, out like a lamb" theme with the animals and weather-related decorations. You could do a rainy days, spring flowers sort of theme. You could also include shamrocks and the like to incorporate St. Patty's.

Also, why not decorate with the kids' art? Have the kids do some spring/St. Patty's themed art the last week of February and hang the projects up around the room!

Have a green day, everyone wears something green, drink green juice and eat green food etc. Use it to teach a little about Ireland rather than just celebrating St Patricks, sort of a geography lesson for tots.

How about whay we are lucky! Ask the kids to tell you whay they are lucky and write them on shamrocks. It may be fun to see what they say (especially the little ones) I also do march lambs and lions on a small paper plates Lambs I decorate with cottonballs and lions with construction paper they are SO cute!

Make a fist with your hand and dip it in green paint. Make footprints all over the windows and floors and tell the students that leprechauns came to visit the classroom last night and then hide those little gold chocolate coins in their cubbies. :)
