If you could plan your final day, what would it be like?

No, I'm not suicidal. Just curious.

I've spent a lot of time contemplating and trying to accept the fact that I'm going to die one day. I don't think that I would do anything differently than I normally do, other than that I wouldn't go to work. I'd call in dying.

I'd probably make a lot of jokes about how I'm just DYING to see a movie, or that I'm just starving to DEATH, or that I'm just DEAD tired.

I'd see my closest friends, call my parents and brother, and take a walk in the cemetery where I'd want to be buried.

I'd prefer to die awake, and know what was happening to me. It's one of the most life-changing things that happens to a person, and I'd hate to miss it. Oh, and I'd have to make arrangements for my cat. That's probably the thing that would bother me most, because I'd know that she'd miss me. I'm the only person she gets along with. People understand what it means when someone dies, and they can get over it. I don't think cats understand.

Great question!
I would plan to have a picnic or camp near the water where me, my three children and there spouses and six grandchildren could enjoy the day together fishing, romping, and enjoying each others company.

I would take the opportunity to take each one aside and tell them how very much I love them (actually I do this every day I see or speak to them anyway), but I am sure the final day would have a certain amount of significance.

I would die peacefully, in my chaise lounge, after having spent some time in prayer and reading a few of my favorite passages. I would be listening to Enya and would drift off into my Father;s arms.

This is much harder to answer than I thought it would be!

I think I would call together my family and anyone else I consider dear, and just spend the day together - like a family gathering. Good food, games, playing with the nieces and nephews. Say anything that had been left unsaid too long. At least that's how I think it would be, but who can be absolutely sure of something like that?

As for how I would die... peacefully in my sleep would be best!

The same as any other day, I guess.

Maybe I'd talk with or phone friends and realatives.

Maybe I'd eat a meal I like one last time.

Maybe I'd watch a movie or play guitar or play piano one last time.

Maybe I'd tell some one how much I love them and wished we'd committed and gone the whole route. Maybe I wouldn't.

I'd have one last fling of innocent, personal fun

Listen to my favorite songs, see my favorite movies.

Have one last go at the "material world"

I would have my grand boys with me and we would play and have fun. I would talk to my son. I would talk to him and the grand boys about what men they should become. I would sing praises to God and die with praises on my lips in my sleep.
