Cetaphil Lotion works wonderfully. I was having problems with eczema and my daughter has severely dry skin conditions.

I went to the dermatologist and he recommeded Cetaphil and I have been using it for many years.

What also would help is putting lotion on immediately after you take a shower, when your still a little damp. It'll help keep the moisture in.

The nice thing about Aveeno is that it contains Colloidal Oatmeal, which not only is very soothing to try skin, but it smells great, sort of nutty. Beta-glucan is extracted from oatmeal, and greatly benefits skin health, improving scarring, wrinkling, and healing. I doubt that the concentration is very high in Aveeno, but that does give an idea of how great oatmeal is for your skin. Vaseline lotion just locks in moisture like petroleum jelly. Look at the ingredients, there's not much there more beneficial than a jar of petroleum jelly.

You could try a natural lotion, without petroleum products and mineral oil. Skin absorbs what you put on it, so it makes sense to be selective. I've used regular drug store lotions for years without problems, but it's just nice to buy something that is high quality. Lotion is something you pamper yourself with, and there are some really good ones that are in the same price range as the Aveeno but smell, feel like, and are made from the same sort of ingredients you'd get at Neiman Marcus. I like Nature's Gate Original Lotion, its smells floral like a pricey perfumed lotion, but is natural and botanical. It absorbs easily, but makes skin smooth. It's about $8, and has been sold at health food stores for years. Most will have it. There is also an oatmeal based lotion, Nature's Gate Colloidal Oatmeal Moisturizing Lotion, if your skin is really dry.

Try to get something that is medium priced; not really cheap and not really expensive...Look at the first 3 or 4 ingredients on the label; try not to get anything that says 'petrolatum' that's the generic term for Vaseline..you dont need that much moisturizing!! Cocoa butter is excellent; low priced and a proven product...nothing wrong with the other brands you mentioned, but I always believed in spending less when you don't have to spend more, and you certainly don't need to spend lots of money on a simple body lotion........hope this helped.........

Use baby lotion. Like Johnson & Johnson baby lotion. It will prevent dry skin from being ashy and who doesn't want to smell good like a baby.
