what do women really mean by this?

It means showing some consideration and appreciation. It means take the time to get to know her before getting too intimate, it means apologizing when you mess up, it means going to her door and knocking when you pick her up for a date instead of having her meet you there, or honking your horn out in the drive, or calling her on the phone telling her to meet you outside. It’s a lot of things that only take effort on your part, but they don’t mean anything if you’re not sincere.

Like you need a degree for this.
It is exactly what it sounds like IT IS THE LITTLE THINGS THAT COUNT

meaning. you don't have to do huge things and spend lots of money to show her that you care or love her. Every small chesture means something to her. Opening the door, pushing her chair in, holding her hand, thanking her for making supper, making the bed, cleaning the house, washing the dishes, your clothes etc etc etc.

Woman often feel like they are being taken for granted, so the occasional breakfast in bed, flower picked from your garden, love letter on a napkin - small things, remind then that you do care and that you do love her

like, 4 example, if 2 guys are trying to grab a girl's attention; one guy gives her a car(when she already has one), the other, a simple i-love-you note, complete with a rose, and a coupon for a free dinner, who would she pick? most women would pick the card, because they are sensitive and would think it thoughtful, sweet, and caring. they want to be sure, also that they do not love the material possessions the guy gives her, but the guy himself. a lot of people are choosy about this subject. but in the end, the dude with the card wins, hands down. ^_^

Its not 1 thing that you do its all the things you do that tells her you like her. Many little thing count more then nothing but every so often doing something big for her

taking out the garbage without being asked to do it.
giving a back massage without being asked.
saying i love you randomly throughout the day.
letting you watch what you want on TV even though you may really want to watch something.
cooking dinner once in a while, or breakfast in bed.
pouring a cup of coffee for me without me asking for one.
i think it's the little things that keep a good relationship going. you can never be selfish, and the little things really show how much you care.

It means...

picking flowers in a field instead of buying them

making a gift

leaving love notes around the house

calling her at luch just to say hi

making her dinner

telling her to take the night off from housework

bragging about her to your friends

bragging about her to her friends (NOT about sex)

it's nice, it's thoughtful, it's sweet and it doesn't cost you a penny. That's what we mean by "little things"

Getting flowers for no reason (you don't even need to buy them, just pick some daisies from the roadside) Having doors opened for me. Finding a note that says "I love you" on my pillow. Coming home from work and having supper ready. Having my guy go to church with me or to my Mom's to visit, even if he isn't crazy about either one. Waking up and finding that the coffee is already made. Being allowed to sleep in on Saturday, and when I wake up, my car has been washed or my grass has been cut. Having the remote in my hand once in awhile, or watching a movie together that I want to see. Having help with the dishes or grocery shopping or laundry. Having my feet massaged without having to beg, or without the condition that I massage his first. When he goes out to get cigarettes and brings me back my favorite ice cream. When he volunteers to take my car in to get the oil changed. When he notices that my bathroom faucet is leaking, and fixes it for me. Having a bowl of chicken noodle soup brought to me when I'm sick. Get the picture?

She's not impressed by expensive gifts. What she wants are constant little reminders that she has your attention (like quick instant messages saying that I was thinking of you, little e-mails, small post-it notes saying that I love you, etc.).

Women mostly like attention and surprises. I will let you figure out the details.

Just what it says, LITTLE THINGS!:
a smile
a kiss
a gentle touch
a loving word
a short love note
a helping hand
a rose
a listening ear
a shoulder to cry on
being a friend
cooking a dinner
drawing her bath
looking at stars together
saying I LOVE YOU (without leading to sex)
There are many more, but I think you get the point.

It's the small compliment you give her. It's unexpectedly holding her hand as you go for a walk. It's the look you give her across the room that makes her feel safe and loved without saying a word.
