Well, leadership activities can really be anything. They can consist of team sports, volunteering, or just giving someone the feeling of importance by showing true interest in them. Leadership is really the act of making others feel good about themselves while walking away without any of the credit. To understand the true meaning of leadership, and how you can apply it to anything , you should invest in yourself and read Dr. John Maxwell's, "The 21 Irrefutable Laws Of Leadership" and you will be able to understand the concepts of leadership and how you can apply them to every aspect of your life and continue to grow to become a great leader. good luck

As leaders, we must embody in words and deeds the values and practices we expect from others. It is important that we take the time to reflect honestly on our own role in possibly perpetuating an atmosphere that allows for office politics to flourish. Thoughtful leadership likely means you already have a talented work force in place. That's terrific. But be careful not set up a throne room in the process. Accidental leaders often inadvertently establish a system of guidance that's unnecessarily restrictive. Guide employees, but don't implement more parameters than are absolutely necessary.

To be a good leader you have to be a good listener and set a good example. You have to work with people and develop a team. You have to be willing to set credit where credit is due. You should always treat others as you want to be treated and never reduce them to numbers on a page. People want to be valued and feel that the job they do (no matter what it is from Burger King to Wal*Mart) is important and worthy of their time and effort.

In your community you should have Scouting groups that always need volunteers & leaders, Big Brother/Big Sister groups, a local library that almost always needs help, hospitals that always need volunteers to help transport patients, transport supplies, and many other important duties, parks and recreation departments always need help with maintence and activities in the spring, summer and fall with local school children. And of course any local Sr. care facility or church....and that's all off the top of my head. All you have to do is look around!

Organize a group of peers to clean up your local park. Organize a moms night out babysitting service at your school.
