Hey Derek,
Some decent advice here, so I will follow up with what others have said.
First off, there is nothing to prove here. You are in school, no need to get into trouble over what someone is saying. Grow up and be mature about it, who gives a damn what these guys think.
Are you training Kung Fu to be a better fighter? Or are you doing it for yourself? Since you are most likely doing it for yourself screw them, let them do what they will. Meanwhile you will be the one getting chicks because of your mature attitude, confident demeanor and good physique. Then the joke is on them.
No need for it to come to blows, they aren't worth it. Don't be a kid about all this, playground fighting isn't worth the trouble you will get into. Let yourself be your guide, no need to let these punks dictate your ego.
Besides, the wrestler will most definately be able to make you look bad. He trains constantly against a resisting opponent, and in a realm you are not familiar with. No need to even go there. You chose a Martial Art for self development purposes not for combat. Keep it that way and don't let little kids being little kids bother you.
Just my two cents.

wrestling has nowbeen accepted in the martial arts world becauseit contributes a variety ofeffective and practicalmovesand techniques. This guy probably watches mixed martial arts fightinglike the ufc. He should know better than to under estimate the other disciplines, bigger and better fighters have too much respect for the other arts that is why mixedmartialarts wasintroduced.
being in to martialarts doesn'tgive you the right to fight any one.you should know better than to do that. go on practicing yopur art and be the best you canb be at itbut also be open to the idea of practicingother grappling arts so thjat you can be in an advantage.wrestling teaches no submission techniques, if youy can train in judo or jiujitsu, youneed not fear fighting this guy in the future.....eventually,you twowillend upfightingeach othersomeday....you should just ignore him for now, but the moreyou ignorehim, the more intense will his desireto fight you.
fight onlyif needed.never fight just toprove anything. do it to defend yourself. if you can avoidhimfor now,the better. try telling him that you wontfight him because your afraid of himbecause he is better than you. dont worry about the rest of the kids, what they think doesnt matterbecauseyou will end upprovinghimand everyone else wrong someday!
if youdoend upfighting, never kick, that would be you biggest mistake. he will definitely go for a double leg take down, let himdo that....once he attacks, stoop down as he is to reach yourlegs catch him by the nape, smash his face on the floorof needed. then give him an uppercut to the nose or a right hookto the ear. goodluck kid! be tough, be brave, but also be smart and most especiallybe wise!

First I'd say, ask your Sensei for advice since you are taking classes. Second, I remind you of what Bruce Lee said, that style is not what makes a great fighter, but a great fighter makes the style.
Finally, I would say, that the purpose of learning martial arts is not to fight others, but to master ourselves. The greatest master wins his battles without having to fight. If you don't want to fight, then don't. You should not care that they think martial arts is weak or mock you.
Fighting him won't stop him, even if you win. This sounds like a bully and a bully doesn't care about right or wrong. Appeal to him, even acknowledge his abilities in wrestling, and restate that you do not study Kung Fu to fight, but for personal reasons. However, you shouldn't act fearful or meak, because that would just want to pester you more. Kung Fu should only be used in self-defense, but if he starts something, you should do what is necessary to end the confrontation.

it is better to cripple than kill"

A fight like a fist fight or a sparring match? Well how long have you been taking Kung Fu? And are you able to hurt him. Since he's a wrestler he'll like to stay low to the ground and wants to take you down. Don't allow him. Kick him in the face if you have too.

If you are worried about it you will have trouble learning your Kung Fu. Do not be preocupied with things like this, Train, ignore the wrestler, and beleive in what you are doing, If you do not fight the wrestler you will both win.

Agree with him that wrestling can beat martial arts, and walk away.
Let his friends mock your style; just laugh at/with them at their clumsy efforts.
What do you lose, if you just give in?
If you fight the guy, and hurt him, you can get suspended from school, or jumped by his friends later on.
Lose the battle, to win the war.

first off you always find a way to get out of a fight.
but if you are really thinking about it. then think about this.
1. you know that you can beat him. (now if this is the case then why fight him there is nothing to prove to yourself and you should not fight)
2. you dont know if you can beat him or you know that he will win then all that means is that you train harder.
THERE ARE OTHER WAYS THEN VIOLENCE
in a couple of years you guys will be out of school and you wont even remeber it.
even if you did beat this guy he is not going to change his look on your ma.
THERE IS NOTHING TO PROVE HERE DONT FIGHT.

is he alot bigger than you? is he stronger? how trained are you? the bottom line is if hes only a wrestler and your martial arts is top notch you should be able to kick his ***.
work on your sprawl so he cant take you down by the legs, lots of knees and punches to the back of the head, and you'll do fine, just dont let it get to the ground. avoid high kicks while standing because one miss and he will shoot for your legs and take you down. i remember people like that in school... they pissed me off...... whoop his *** and no one will moke you for the rest of your school life

Ignore them if you can. You should only fight to protect yourself or others. Let them mock. There's an old saying: When you Belittle someone, you be little. Be a bigger man then they are. I realize that that is a VERY low standard.

ignore him, what do you care what they think of martial arts. a journey in martial training is a personal one. you will learn eventually that the opinions of people in high school are completely worthless.
