If you truly believe in peace, you can believe in the Prince of Peace. There is no perfect peace without God. He gives the peace that passes all understanding, even in the midst of life's hardest trials.
If you believe in love, you can believe in God who is love. He authored love. We can love Him because He first loved us although we were unlovable, wretched, and vile.
I don't think, I KNOW God is real. I can feel Him in my soul. He changed my heart and everything about me. His spirit has uplifted and encouraged and strengthened me and touched my ailments and helped my temperamental weaknesses.
The world would be completely gross darkness without any reflections of the Light of the World, Jesus Christ through believers. There would be no salt in the earth. Nothing to hold back judgment. No prayers going up from Christians for the lost. No witnesses for His truth yet God would still be there. It is in the heart of man to fill the emptiness in his soul with fellowship and worship of God. Nothing but true fellowship will satisfy that longing including substitutes.
Are you saying you are thinking of becoming atheist and hesitate to tell your family?? God with a capital "G" please for some two way respect. It is proper English to capitalize names and Deity and as there is only one God, He is worthy of that honour. (You would capitalize the names of mere mortals I'm sure).

Since you said to be respectful and you seem to want real answers, I hope you'll read this with an open mind and open eyes. Yes, I am a Christian. I'm also a fan of science. My experience with scientists, or those who consider themselve intellectuals, is that those who don't believe in God will come up with any theory possible to disprove Him. Let me explain further with an interesting story I heard: A man went Salmon fishing in Alaska with his family. He admittedly was NOT a fisherman. They got all the supplies necessary for the trip and went to a river known for good fishing. An avid fisherman was casting not 6 feet from the man and pulled out a salmon about every minute.... the man however, didn't catch a thing. Now, because of HIS experience, he could go to the other fisherman and try to convince him there are no fish in the river, because he had not caught any, but obviously because of the fisherman's experience, he knows there are fish.
God is all around us in nature. If you think about it, with a non-biased view, you can see the hand of God on everything. Ever read anything by C.S. Lewis? By many Christians today, he is a famous Christian. But did you know he used to be a devout Atheist? He wanted nothing more than to prove God did not exist. Instead, he convinced himself not only the God DOES exist, but that he is a very benevolent and loving God who wants you to come home with Him. He wants you to know Him. If you truly want answers, do some research. I would love to discuss this with you further if you like. You may email me if you want. lnmartin422@yahoo.com

Athiests are perhaps not glum, disturbed or confused. Their problem is that they live in spiritual darkness.
I think God is wonderful, caring, loving, forgiving, all powerful, all knowing, holy, etcetera. The list is long.
If you mean what would the world be without Christians (when you say without religion) the world will find that out one day when Jesus returns to this earth to take out His Church. Then all those who love Him and serve Him will be removed from this evil world.
As far as religion is concerned, mankind will always be religious so there is no point even considering what the world would be like without religion. It just ain't gonna happen. Even when the anti-christ arrives on the scene he will demand worship, so atheists be warned, you guys will have to become religious too.

The main truth that even an Atheist would have to agree with is without God we all perish. Another truth is without God there is not absolutes as all have only their own ideas of righteousness and any one mans idea is equal to any other mans. Which would mean we would be the same as the animals in that we might as well go for the strong survive as clearly there is no right and wrong except as we ourselves perceive right and wrong. If the way this world operates in it's present condition in which some accept the truth and many accept parts of truths is bad then imagine a world where every man is for only himself...and the eventual answer to it all is our distruction....that is the world without God.

hi I even have been a Christian for greater or less 2 years, and till now that i presumed that i wouldn't in any respect replace into non secular of any sort. i grew to become into an atheist! certainly i've got no longer examine the entire the bible and that i do no longer examine the bible typical.i'm feeling undesirable approximately that too! bu the bible is genuinely very hard and boring now and lower back. SO don't sense discouraged in case you detect it boring and would not make experience. It quite relies upon on the time. now and lower back I only sense stimulated and that i will comprehend the verses. i could have the flexibility to establish sth that I wasn't able to establish till now. yet now and lower back it would not make a lot experience to me in any respect, and whilst that occurs i could only end analyzing and take a smash. you don'y could rigidity your self to verify it in case you extremely won't have the ability to get into it. in case you do not have faith in the Bible and the church's preaching, do no longer attempt too hard. there could be a time for you. only like me, it only happened. and that i won't have the ability to even bear in ideas how i presumed it. anybody's time is diverse, some ppl's time is in the previous, some is later, and for others it must be never. (meaning they would not in any respect have faith) yet only because of the fact i do no longer comprehend the Bible does no longer advise that the bible is faulty or illogical. i do no longer think of there is something incorrect with you. i'm no longer judging you and don't be afriad to chat approximately your problems. confident you're youthful you're able to alter, only loosen up and probably at some point you will without warning understand the way different believers sense. and for now do exactly no longer concern too a lot! :)

the best thing you can do is to shop around, and go strait to the different faiths holy texts. My recommendation is start with the bible, because that covers two faiths in one, reading the OT gives you the foundation of Judaism and the predecessor of Christianity, and then you can transfer into the NT.
the keys to finding a good faith are:
1) don't look at how it appeals to emotion. look and how the pillars and goals/requirements of the faith directly influence day to day life in a practical sense, because if you cant use it in everyday life, it has no value.
2)Ask questions, and try to find your own answers using their own holy book and compare how that compares with day to day experiences and how the world would be different if everyone lived that way good and bad. a good tool to use when studying the Bible is a Strong's concordance w/ Hebrew and Greek definitions.
take your time and look at all the possibilities, whichever looks like it will improve your life/standard of living the most (aside from discrimination against by friends and family) is probably the one for you.

If you don't know what to think it might be time to stop thinking. The best you can possibly do with thinking would be to think God's thoughts after Him -- and that is not gonna happen.
God is love so how can you believe in love but not 100% in God? Oh, pardon me, that was little god lower case. It must follow that you either lack an understanding of what love is or what God is or both. That may come with age and lots of trials if there is time left to you for both.
I was raised in a very religious situation so I perhaps can relate to your situation a little. My earthly advise is always dump the religion, honor your parents, and seek with all your heart your own experience with God.
The only advocate we have with God or with death is the Lord Jesus Christ. Without Him you stand it alone.
Before Him you also stand or fall alone in this race. No Pope, nor priest, nor preacher, nor parent, nor best friend, nor guru, nor wickan, nor Christian, nor atheist, nor Q&A buddy can stand it for you. You must settle it once and for all in your own heart and mind; until you know without doubt and in all humility that you are accepted of God.

Peace!
"Science without religion is lame; religion without science is blind." -- Albert Einstein
"I would rather live in a world where my life is surrounded by mystery than live in a world so small that my mind could comprehend it." -- Harry Emerson Fosdick
My own personal answer would be: Religion is important in a person's life because it gives him a reason for living. There must be something after this life. If there is nothing there, then we would be no different from animals. The problem is many people want proof before they embrace religion. Faith without faith is not faith. You have to take that leap of faith if you want religion in your life. Incidentally that is a test God wants us to pass before he accepts us in his Kingdom.
God bless

Problem is, the message of the Cross is NOT respectful of people. It is an offense, and only those drawn to God BY His Word and His Will have any meaning at all in the true scheme of things. Salvation isn't about you and me, it's about God and His Soverign Choice as to who will and who will not be saved. ALL humans are worthless, and deserving of death. Only the Substitution provided by Jesus gives us hope for anything better.
It's a harsh Gospel, but it is the Truth.

The World would be Great with-out Any Religion.
IF IF IF everybody else was Born Again and Filled with the Spirit and Walking in Holiness.
Religion cannot Save (Recreate your Spirit) You.
Jesus is the Only One Who can Recreate your Spirit for you, HE has to have your Permission AND Then you will be Walking in Reality--"a Born-Again Child of GOD". And Hopefully after that, you will be Walking in The LOVE of GOD---(Word of God) instead of Playing Games by Being "Religious".
Hope this Helps.
p.s. The Pharisee's were Very Religious. So was Saul, befor he got Born-Again and started Following Jesus (The Word of GOD) and then GOD named him Paul, you know, the Apostle Paul, who Wrote 2/3 rd's of the New Testament. Later......Ditto..................................
