I think when you have problems like this the first thing you do is make sure everybody is on the same page.

You and their mother should first sit down and thoroughly discuss how you want your children to behave and the consequences if they don't....you both have to agree and stand firm.

Then you have a family meeting telling your children the new rules & the consequences.

Then the hardest part is you and their Mom have to stand your ground even when it's hard.

first of all i totally know where you are coming from. the thirteen year old is totally just hormonal she thinks it is either her way or the highway and no matter what you do she will always think your way is right. all you have to do is show that you are in total control. If she acts up ground her don't lift the punishment and make sure to tell her til when! With the 11 year old get some medication keep that kid on a strict food diest and rules just as strict make sure homework is done first thing so you don't have to worry about forgetting. then with the 9 year old give her a little more freedom let her enjoy being the little one but make sure to give her some disciplin too.

Discipline, discipline, discipline. These are your kids don't let them walk over you. Tell them if they can't respect you, then you will start taking their things away. You do not owe them anything... be a parent and put your foot down.

Try putting them in loads of extracurricular activities that way they don't have time to give you attitude. Keep them busy

Take away privledges. Ground them. If they still have attitude and stuff, especially with the 13 year old, purposely embarass her. She will hate you for a long time but will probably not ever give you attitude ever again. Either that or she'll run away but running away is pretty normal for kids that age.

You and your mate are there problem. Remember children are wot they learn at home in most cases. Wots around them will be in them, and home has a lot to do with behavior.

when you punish them you have to stick to it and don't let it slide, you have to show them who's boss.
