He shunned wealth and greed. He was a savior to the poor. He lived a simple life. How communist can he get?!?

It's more likely that he was a communist than the son of a god.

It's interesting that so many people interpret this question as an insult to Jesus. I thought you Americans got over the whole 'reds under the bed' thing ages ago. Just to clarify a few things, communism is not inherently atheistic, and doesn't necessarily involve state ownership of property. At its most basic, communism means that no one owns anything. You can use what you need, but if someone else needs it you give it to them. And that's pretty much exactly what Jesus was saying about how we should treat our neighbours.
To say that Jesus couldn't be a communist because he believed in a god is really very ignorant.

Utter Foolishness. Nonsense. Blasphemy. He said there would be mockers in the last days.

My fellow posters and observers; The early church was NOT communist. Love and equality was the principle taught. This was not a redistribution of wealth. The concept of nothing over and nothing lacking is part of "love thy neighor as thyself" and "if you see your brother in need, have bowels of compassion on him with food, clothing, shelter, etc." (paraphrased by me).
Jesus did not come to have an earthly kingdom. He humbled Himself and took upon Himself the form of man. He was against coveteousness (all the way through the Bible). He never asked for money for his "ministry" or "building program". People provided what was necessary out of love. Shunning wealth and greed doesn't in the least constitute any sort of robbing from the poor to redistribute the wealth. He did not advocate unions for the Roman soldiers but said "be content with your wages". He didn't advocate for them to stop paying Ceasar taxes. He didn't have an earthly governership. He did not advocate tearing those authorities down. The early church shared with one another out of love and love alone not due to a governement system. That love was Holy Ghost inspired. They had ALWAYS took care of their own Jewish poor, widows, orphans and the stranger with offerings. The new covenant church simply left out the animal sacrifices which made up the largest part of the abolished tithe system and included the Christian Greek widows in the daily ministrations. This is how the church offerings were distributed when the Levitical priesthood tithe inheritance was done away with in Christ. Nothing more, nothing less. Love will meet the needs. That is not communism. God still demands charity and spirit led giving as being true religion undefiled.
I am thinking that anyone who suggests such a thing doesn't know My Savior or what a communist is.

Not just Jesus, but the early Christian church was communist. Each member gave all they had to the group, and it was all divided out between them.

Look at the story of Anninias and Saphira. They lied and held back part of what they owned, and were struck down by god because of that.

I have big problems with Christianity, but many of the teachings attributed to Jesus were good. In a perfect world pure communism would be the way to go. But human nature gets in the way, and in reality communism ends up being the equal distribution of poverty.

Lets clarify a few things. Since sin, mankind is less than perfect. Perfection is YHVH's standard. YHVH sent the Savior YAHOSHUA so that by receiving Him man could receive the perfection needed to live in a perfect world. If a person chooses not to receive this gift, then he cannot live in the perfect world, and therefore, when the Almighty cleanses this world with fire, and burns up all sin (prior to making this world new, and perfect) then those people attached to their sins will be burned up with the sins they refuse to give up. How could the Almighty be more generous???? What we choose to do is one thing. What a governmental power tries to force us to do is another!

Except that He believed and knew He was God.

This simple truth kinda disqualifies Jesus as a Communist!

He told some of his disiples to LEAVE THEIR STUFF WITH THEIR FAMILIES

He told us to SELL ALL WE OWN AND BUY A SWORD

That's Capitalistic to my way of thinking.

Jesus wasn't into material things.

Commies BELIEVE eveyrthing is OWNED by the STATE

Not Jesus

Give unto CEASAR what is CEASERS and GIVE UNTO GOD what is GOD'S!

Pay your taxes and fines

Jesus was not a communist

He was a believer in people and that they'll do the right thing.

Shame on you , Chipee. You are not to mock or make fun of Jesus. When you do, then you fall into the catagory of being an antichrist. Is this what you are ? Your question is repulsive.

The early church practiced socialism. There is a very important difference between socialism and communism. Violence being the major thing.
