It's a fun place - waitresses sing 50's songs. It's crowded and very loud. The menu is big, the food is very ordinary - but, you don't go to Ellen's for the food. A peanut butter and jelly sandwich is $8.00, same for grilled cheese. Two hotdogs are $10. You can read the menu below. You can have a good time.

Full Review
John McGill, our waiter, future Frank Sinatra. "Chances Are....'Cuz I Wear a Silly Grin, the Moment You Come Into View..." (O.K., O.K., I know, that's Johnnie Mathis). I would never had the opportunity to meet this charismatic "down home" boy from the Ozarks if not for this quaint, wonderful diner.
I couldn't believe that someone claimed this place to be "staged schtick, but the food was good" (paraphrased). Even i the food was totally outstanding, it still would be only secondary to the environment.
This magical, charming New York place conveniently located close to Broadway boasts the best voices I've heard in a long time. Goodbye Brittni, hello Diane. Sayonara JLO, welcome Becky. These are real voices!
This is the essence of the New York experience that I was seeking and spoke of in my review of the Brooklyn Diner.
Stepping into this establishment is stepping back into 1950. Chrome, video screen and monitors showing Fred Astaire film clips, a toy train making it's rounds above the perimeter of the Diner. Brightly dressed wait/singing staff. They also were mighty fine waiters as well!
THE FOOD
Average diner fare. Above average quality and a little pricey. I've been to places offering far worse food at higher prices with absolutely no ambiance whatsoever.
The kids had a great, big Belgian waffle with strawberries and whipped cream (fresh, heavy whipped cream. About $7.50.
We had egg and cheese sandwiches on rolls with side of bacon. About $6.00/sandwich and $3.00 for the bacon.
We didn't want the experience to end, so we ordered ice cream (excellent and only $3.50) and rice pudding (wonderful and about $3.50 also)to extend our stay as the place was filling up fast.
Upstairs in the "balcony" area where the restrooms are designated as for "Guys" or "Dolls", the hustle and bustle can be viewed overall with a good view of the current singer jumping up on the 3 ft tall partition while belting out the song from The Little Mermaid.
The other food looked pretty good. Burgers, fries, shakes and sandwiches.
Conclusion
This is the epitome of the New York experience and should not be missed. I can't wait to go back during Christmastime!!!!!
Thank you for reading!!!

Stardust Diner is an entertaining and good place to eat in New York City. Although the food is quite ordinary, and just fine, the entertainment makes the place unique. And the menu is quite comprehensive. You should find what you want to eat here. (If I remember correctly, great sodas and sundaes). In among song sets, the waiters and waitresses are attentive. This is a great place to take the whole family or out of town guests.

When I worked near there I used to go there a lot. I love the restaurant. It's not expensive and the food is good and it's a lot of fun. You even get entertainment at times. Worth the trip if you are around there.
