No they are not. They are made of carbon steel, 316 Stainless Steel, Hastelloy and many other materials. The material used is very dependent on the processing unit.

lead would not be useful for pipes in a refinery because of the danger of fires or explosions they would melt at a very low heat causing more problems. They are soft, heavy and weak as well, they cost a lot, and there are lots of environmental regulations on lead ... you could hardly come up with a worse material to make pipes out of.

No lead pipes are used, They are mostly Carbon Steel CS and grades selection is according to the fluid requirements.
