Why do girls stare at you and then not want to talk?

Hey

I've been out of the dating scene for a while and finally there was a ray of hope this past weekend when I saw this girl. She was really really pretty and seemed to be nice - seemed is the operative word. She kept looking at me, and whispering to her buddies etc... - my friends even noticed it.
Then she would now and then come with her friends to where I was dancing and look at me dead in the eyes.

So what I do ? I made an attempt to talk to the girl. My word - I went up asked her name, told her mine , then she ran off. It was like she was scared or something. What's that about ?

she likes you a lot but shes not talking to you because shes scared or shy...girls do that =P
