They're all so phony and the people are of such low qualities that I've completely become disenchanted with the idea of even bothering.

Well that is what kept me single for the last 26 years.
I don't know what to tell you. But I prefer a single life than a drama filled relationship.

Relationships can be good or bad. I think most people are in a relationship because its the thing to do. Society makes it weird to be single unless you just broke up or got dumped. if you are a guy and have been single for a while people are going to assume your a player or your just gay. You should look some of your friends in the eye and ask them are they really happy with their relationships and see their reaction. I think the problems arise because people move to fast and dont take the time to really know each other. You go on three dates and then decide to be exclusive come on anyone can go on three dates with the same person. Plus people have sex too early in the relationship. Im not saying wait till marriage but at least give it some time before you give it up. I can guarantee when people have sex too early that makes or breaks the relationship. If its good thats all you think about and if its bad you want to break up. But if you really take the time to know someone it wouldnt be the only thing that mattered.

That's when you need to take a break and step back for a while. That happened to me when I was 24. Being single can be a great thing. It gave me a chance to figure out who I was and what I wanted. Then I could sort out the riff raff from the real people.
Just remember be true to who you and don't settle for anything less.

I think the people who are tired of it are those who have had their heart broken. I know I was tired of relationships once upon a time but i realized that no matter how tired i am I can't seem to get over him that's why i'm still with him. If you meet that special someone and I know you will you'll change your mind

Try again but don't give too much. Save as much as you can and it will be better. If you give too much you'll get ditched
