I am writing a lesson plan for a group of adults with disabilities on the world. What is the best way to explain what a country is? It needs to be very basic.

You could use your classroom as an example of a country.
It is a geograhic area with boundries. Inside are people that have share things in common. Polotics, heritage etc.
You classroom has boundries (walls) and the people in it have things in common (men, women, dissabilites)

It's a piece of land that is ruled by a certain government (like a king or president). The government makes laws for the country and gives the people in the country services (like schools, roads, or police).

A country is a big area of land where people live. It has set boundaries that everyone agrees worldwide is actually a country. Countries can issue stamps and passports and citizenship. Each country has a government.

A country is all of the states inside of one area.(or territory if it isn't too difficult)
