You will need to itemize your deductions and show proof of the donations.

If you have receipts for the donations, it's taken as a charitable donation deduction if you itemize. If you don't itemize, you can't count it on your tax return.

You'll need to itemize your deductions to claim that. If that is your only itemizable deduction, it's not enough to make itemizing worth your while.
