I'm planning on takeing the cpa exam in the next 6 months and was wondering how often i need to take that test to renew my accounting certificate? 1 year, 2 year 5 years or is that one test I take good for my life?

The standards vary from state to state but in general, once you pass the CPA exam you don't need to take it again. However, you will have to take continuing education courses to keep your license current.

Once you have passed the exam and received your certification, you do not need to retake the exam. You do need to (in most states) register annually and meet the yearly requirements of CPE (typically 40 hours).
