I think it is. I went back at 28, and am graduating with my bachelors in Biology at 31 this May. I am then going on for a graduate degree in adolescence education to become a high school teacher.
Its a scary and exciting adventure. But it is worth it. It is worth bettering your life and the life of your family. I am a single mom of a 6 year old son, so I get plenty of financial aid and student loans to cover tuition, fees and other expenses like rent. I also had to get a supplemental loan...for rent, but, I figure hey, every college graduate has student loans (expect for those very rich) and I'll just be paying on them until I am 55 instead of 45. But, my rewards in the future will be more than worth it!
Good luck, and I do hope you go back!

Is it certainly worth trying to go to college at 31. Many colleges have programs designed for those who wait to go to college. Evening, weekend, or accelerated courses can help those who have busy work schedules or kids at home. There are also many scholarships available just for those who are "adult students" (usually over 25). It is never too late to expand your knowledge. You don't even have to dive into a degree program if you aren't ready. Just take a few courses that interest you. I have just finished my undergraduate program in Computer Information Systems, and I had students of all ages in my courses... even retirees. It was actually beneficial to work with people of varying ages - each generation has different views and experiences to share. Good luck!!

Yes!!! You figure you're going to be working the next 20 - 30 years, and having a degree is the best way to increase your income and quality of life. Go for something you enjoy and/or are good at... that makes the time go by faster. To be practical, take something similar to what you're doing now or something general. Start small, a certificate program or AA degree at your local community college! They offer sooo many choices and schedules. Heck, you can take classes online. Plus, there will be many other working adults in class with you if you take night or weekend classes. If you don't like it, you dont have to continue. I certainly recommend a college degree to anyone!!!!

Of course it's worth it! I just started at my local community college and I'm 36. Your highly motivated when your older and you know how much a college degree means in the working world.
Go for it and enjoy the journey!

yeah...it depends on what you want to do or what will further your current job/career...or future career...
my major is criminal justice and at least 40-50 percent of the students are over 30....most go to school so they can gain higher positions within their field quicker than others...
