Yes, I believe it's bad to dye your hair so much. I know of one lady who actually lost her natural hair color from dyeing it so much.

If you do decide to grow it out you can color your hair as close to your natural color as possible, that way you won't have to put up with the roots.
I would go to a hairdresser if you want a good job. They may even strip part of the dye that is in your hair right now and condition after. They can make it simple for you to keep up after.

Every answer so far has said yes it is bad.........but I would have to disagree (but technically yeah it is bad BUT......) I am nearly 25 and I have been sying my hair since I was 13 and I have never ever had any problems with my hair (apart from the regrowth that looks yuk). My hair dresser always tells me my hair is so healthy and in good condition. I get my hair dyed to get it healthy. I dye my hair every 3 to 4 months, and it feels great once I have it done. Its always shiny and clean. I have never had split ends, and very rarely is it too dry or too oiley.....maybe I just have good hair.....I don't know.....well I am off to the hairdresser for my first colour this year!!!

Dyeing your hair strips it of all natural oils and nutrients, that your scalp produce. Your body also absorbs the harmful chemicals, and say if one was pregnant, it could cause serious birth defects. I suggest, you use the DOVE hairline products (go on the website, and take the quiz to see what product is right for you), and re-color you hair once your natural color, so you don't have to worry about it. Also instead of actual dyeing it, you could use something that is called a a demi-permanent hair dye. It is not as harmful, and instead of actually dyeing your hair, it brightens the color and makes it smoother/silkier. Good Luck.

Yes it is very bad to dye your hair. There are harsh chemicals that damage the hair follicle and cause hair breakage and dryness. Hair dye is also known to be carcinogenic as well.Only dye your hair when it's necessary and try a natural hair dye. These hair dyes are sold at health food markets such as Wild Oats or Whole Foods and cost a little more, however , they are safer then the commercial dyes sold at the drug stores. I have used them and do believe them to be safer and less damaging.
Good Luck!

Dying your hair can damage it a lot. When you dye it, the color is actually tinny particles of metal adhering to your hair. The best bet, is that when you need to dye it go to a salon cause they can use a little less chemicals on it. Also, if you dye it a color that is close to your natural color you won't have to dye it as much.

I had that problem, I just decided to go buy a dye that looked similar to my natural color because I realize that God made you how you are for a reason, he is the master of creation. I used to be worried that my hair color didnt go well with my skin tone, but thats nonsense because I was made that way! :-P
hope that helped or at least planted a seed :)

Yeah, i know someone and I always laugh and tell myself that their hair is going to fall out. Makes me feel good. haha. I actually have blonde highlights, which i retouch only once a year! They faded..they didnt come out to good last time so you cant tell when its all grown out and im only 12. But it is reallly damaging. Colour pulse isnt though and it makes your hair smooth and shiny

I had repetedly dyed my hair at one stage, and I had to constantly get the ends cut and a trim now and then, it never looked healthy, it was always frizzy and I had to keep putting moisturisers and anything I could find to keep it looking fine. A friend of mine had to get her hair cut short recently for the same reasons- she burnt it!

yes. It will cause the hair to brake off bad and this will result in frizz. The chemicals in the die eat away all of the natural oils and cause severe damage to the hair cuticle.
