My wife just had lasik this afternoon and her eyes are very dry as was expected. We seem to have misplaced the info sheet that they gave us a few weeks back and the office is closed. If any lasik docs or previous lasik patient read this I would sure appreciate your help. I just need to know how soon eyedrops can be used after the lasik procedure. Thank you.

Immediately after Lasik, the best thing for her to do is to close her eyes and take a nap. She should definitely not be using her eyes immediately after surgery. With her eyes closed, they won't feel so dry.

If she absolutely MUST keep her eyes open, use eyedrops at anytime. Use the disposable vials of eyedrops with snap-off lids, such as Tears Naturale Free. Really though, she should keep her eyes closed for a few hours.

I had Lasik five years ago and love it. However, my eyes still get dry, especially in the afternoon.
