Yes...you will not get orders until you are finished with corp school in Great Mistakes.
AD Navy for 6 years...was on NTC GL for 3 years
Also...the school I went to (I was an ET) we chose orders by class standing...I got to choose 1st...Hawaii for 3 years :)
So study hard and that will hepl in getting a good duty station.
Oh...and stay away from Kenosha! You will get in nothing but trouble there.

I didnt know where I was going till about 10 days before graduation. We filled out our 'dreamsheets' and that was about it before then. But dont worry most schools let u choose your orders out of the list and honestly if u want a close knit group go FMF!!

You don't know where you're being sent during basic. You can request a certain area for your "permanent" station, but even that won't tell you where you will be sent on deployments, since that is based on what unit you get put it

Yep, in fact corpsmen are also faced with a decision about serving with Marines. Corpsmen are medics/nurses, you can be sent anywhere.

absolutely. some people won't find out until 30 days prior to graduating, others won't have orders until after they graduate.
