I'm only 26, but I'd be happy with the initial start age increasing to even 21. Right now it is typically 16 (15 with permit) and talk is of increasing to 18. At the very least it should be MORE difficult to obtain a license at an early age.

...This works on both ends of the spectrum too though. Male teens and Female seniors are "party" to the majority of accidents in Illinois.

Like someone else said, mandatory testing needs to occur more often after initial licensure. I'd also add that testing needs to be more strict to pass and breaking licensure laws (i.e., driving without license) needs to hold stiffer punishments.

People act like driving is a RIGHT when it should, in fact, be a LUXURY or at least linked to responsibility.

No cons. Some states hand out licenses at to early an age. Most teenagers I see dry like idiots. There either not paying attention to what there doing, showing off or trying to race everyone. Actually I think it should become mandatory to have to retest for your license every two years no matter what your age. The world is not a video game. you can't drive like it is.

You mean raising it? I'm all for it. 16 year olds are in someting like 1/2 of all accidents. They're reckless and irresponsible on the whole.

i think it sucks to raise the age before you can drive but might be safer but lowering would be alittle more dangerous
