sorry for ur stress, but actually, skipped heartbeats due to onset of perimenopause are normal.it happens to most women at that time, and it is scary but not serious.however, since u do have chin(jaw?) pain, and shortness of breath,it may be something more serious, but dont panic.heres what u need to do-go to dr.ask him/her to test u for the following a-hormones,to see where u are at regarding perimenopause. b-an ekg,to determine if the skipped heartbeats/jaw pain are heart symptoms,or if the skipped heartbeats are just related to normal,age-appropriate hormonal changes.c-thyroid problems, common in women over 40,can cause anxiety, heart effects and extreme fatigue.have a thyroid panel done. all these tests are simple, just bloodtests and an in-office ekg(also called ecg at some offices>)that being said, stress can make any of theses conditions worse, but usually, these symptoms have a real, physical componant, and u should take action on that.my educated guess-menopause,maybe with thyroid involvement as well.disclaimer-i cannot diagnose,so please see a dr.good luck!go to an emergency room, and tell them ur heart problems are scaring u.it is against the law for an emergency room to turn someone away, and it is against the law for them to withhold treatment and tests from u if u cant pay.

I'm not exactly sure what the question is, is it the fatique, or you say you are handicapped because of your legs. We need to know more about what's wrong with your legs to help you. It sounds like you are suffering depression due to all the crap going on in your life. Depression can cause you to feel extremely tired, anxiety can cause your heart flutters. Your chin aches I don't know what that is about, unless you meant your shins(the front part of your legs)hurt. Menopause doesn't cause any of these issues and if anything should be viewed as a positive in your life, at 48 you don't need anymore kids to care for, take that time for you. Stress is a huge bummer and you definately have stress in your life. Try to look at Katrina as the push you needed to make big changes in your life..........don't be so scared, you have a place to live and people who love you. You may have lost material things, and yes, job losses are stressful, but it is important to look at the big picture and keep moving forward. Write back with more info, maybe we can help in a different area. Good luck.

Only a doctor can say for sure, but it sounds like anxiety to me. Anxiety is an imabalnce of some brain chemicals which are often exacerbated by any hormonal changes. Your seratonin levels as well as your norepinephrine levels are off, so your heart gets a "fight or flight" signal without there being any real physicqal threat. It's a false alarm. Now anytime there is any chest pain involved I really feel uncomfortable if the person doesn't want to see a doctor. I would go to the busy free clinic and hand out until they can see you. If they rule out any imminant cardiac episodes, then my hunch about anxiety is correct. If your heart checks out fine, then ask about any samples they may have for Paxil or any other SSRI (seratonin Reuptake Inhibitor) and a couple of weeks of that should improve the symptoms. If it doesn't see if they can try another one, since there are several different kinds and it's really a matter of trial and error.
Hope you feel better and can be seen.
Good luck.

Sounds like symptoms of menopause and stress. Stress can do funny things to you. Also I have heard of women going through menopause a feeling like they are having heart palpation's. Headaches, hot flashes, generalize weakness. Also the lack of energy do you feel like you just can't do anything you just don't have the energy. do you feel just overwhelmed by everything. If so this is a sign of depression. You may want to try some St Johns wart. (I thinks that the correct name) You can purchase it over the counter. But talk to you pharmacist first. If you can't afford a doctors visit.

It sounds like you are under an extreme level of stress. I think it would help you greatly to talk to someone who is not involved in your situation. A doctor, a crisis telephone counsellor, perhaps. Venting and allowing yourself to emote will take the pressure off psychologically, and as a consequence, physically.

You need to see a MD, PA, Nurse practitioner immediately to rule out any physical problems.
Go to you local heal Dept. if you get no results from those suggestions, call 911 and tell the screen er your sytoms and go to a hospital to be checked out.
Hospitals have social workers who can arrange finacial assistance to help your family and help take care of your husband.
You need to take care of yourself, or you will not be able to take care of your family

Public hospitals are the best place to go for answers. They can refer you to health care for struggling families. If you are having heart problems, then go to the hospital immediately. They are required to help you or to refer you to someone who can.
