Shepherds pie is made with lamb mince ....... Cottage pie is made with beef mince. The process of baking is the same.
Fry the mince and 1 chopped onion in a little oil, add whatever flavouring or herbs etc that you may like, add some flour and pour in some beef stock and stir to combine to a thick mix. You can add some mixed vegies too. Mash some potato and leave everything to cool. Place meat mixture in an ovenproof dish and cover with the potato ..... put in moderate hot oven and cook until potato is browned. Serve.
