A tan is caused by skin damage. I used to use tanning beds but since learned they can contribute to skin cancer. I've had melanoma and it's a pretty scarey thing. I know you want to look tan and beautiful for you wedding but why don't you consider a fake tan. There are some new "spray on" tans that won't wash off in the pool or ocean. Trust me, in 20 years you'll be glad you did.

Well first Congratualtions.
Now I suppose if I was going to say the Medically correct thing, I would tell you there is no good time to start tanning..
But since I am not a Medical Provider, I will not say that.
I have been tanning regularly since 1994.. I tan no more than twice a week for no more than 12 minutes each time.
I would recommend this schedule for at least the last 8 weeks before your wedding date, that gives you all of April and all of May. Prior to that, so as in now I would recommend tanning every third day for no less than 10 minuted but no more than 15 minutes.
So lets say... Monday, Thursday, Sunday, Wednesday and so on. This will help to slowly establish a nice base tan, without burning. Make sure to moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!! I can not stress that enough.
Good Luck, and Congrats again

Well Im getting married in april and Im not going to tan until probably march or the end of Feb. be careful when tanning. You don't want you back darker than your front and you do not want your skin to look leathery. You may want to start tanning at the end of april and no more than two or three times a week. (that way you will maintain the color you already have.)

Start sometime in the beginning of April. Go about 2-3 times a week, or about every other day (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, etc) Tanning can be pretty bad for your skin, but if you really want to do it for your wedding then go for it.
Also, remember to keep your skin moisturized, or else you will be tan on your wedding day, but your skin will be dry.

Get a spray on tan a few days to a week before the wedding and save your skin. They look just as good and won't give you cancer.

Never. It is bad for your health and makes you age prematurely.
If your wedding gown is white, that will automatically make your skin look darker when you wear it, just like a light-colored bathing suit does. No need whatsoever to go tanning.

Staff at a respectable tanning facility should be well trained and able to answer your question. I am very fair skinned and am going to start in February, every other day. If you tan easily you should be able to wait until April but it's not good to go more than every other day.

Please please do a mystic tan instead. They look natural and are inexpensive. Try it out several months before your wedding to ease your fears about it.
Tanning causes skin cancer. Plain and simple, don't do it.
My 24 year old best friend was just diagnosed with skin cancer and they suspect that is was because she tans before special events like weddings, dances, vacations, etc.

hehehe cute question! depending upon the style of your gown...if youre going to have one....a lighter natural skin tone is best. If you must tan and you just want a healthy sun kissed glow, you might try 10 ...15min sessions only the first couple of weeks in May. happy nuptuals.
