P.S. stands for the Latin term "Post Scriptum", in which "post" means "after" and "scriptum" means "the writing". So, P.S. means something you add after you have finished all the other writing you did in your letter. For instance, if you have already finished your letter, and you think of something you want to add at the last minute, you would put "P.S.", and add it in a note.

LOL! If anyone is going to tell others you're a Jedi..you need to wear duct tape. You can tell them that's a symbol of your religion. It represents THE FORCE It has a light side a dark side But more importantly, it holds the universe together! ;) thumbs up to turtles and Leia, perfect answer! And a star for a fun question. Hey if you can't laugh at the silliness of calling atheist a religion, you'd just stay ticked off at the stupidity.

It means post-script, not postal stamp.

It's used at the end of a letter because you are indicating that it is an afterthought. It's a throwback from when people used to handwrite letters. It took too much time to re-write the letter, so you'd write a p.s.

P.S. does mean post script. I've also learned that NB basically means the same thing for people in Australia. I don't know what the letters stand for, though.
