Yes. Religion is the strongest motivating factor for human beings. When that breaks down, human beings become immoral.

Religion is a guide to how one should lead their lives. All religions including Atheism has their Good People and their Bad people. But morality itself has been lost for a long time. As the days past it sometimes feels like their is none.
Corruption is at every corner, whether you choose to follow is based on your moral compass.

Religion isn't a group of people who all believe the same thing. It's the way that you respond to what is revealed of God in the creation. You can respond by saying that there is no God and that is a negative response to what he has revealed about himself. We love because he first loved us. I'm not saying that Atheists don't love but their love is subjective and their morals are based in subjectivity. There is no objective basis for morality without the knowledge of God. No absolute right and wrong. All morality is relative.

eot necessarily, there are good, moral people who aren't "religious". Many people try their best to be good citizens, not harming others and living moral lives. There are many such people doing this daily, though not as many as there used to be. Today, sadly, the morality of this world has gone downhill and things that people knew to be wrong, today are accepted as okay.
Please, understand though, that there is a differacne between being "religious" and being "born-again". I,personally, am opposed to the term "religious". A person can be religious about a great many things...religious about cleaning, cooking, golfing, jogging, etc. Being religious about someting simply means we do something regularly.

Absolutely not!
Non religious people still believe in morale behavior even if they don't believe in a god. Its common sense not religious sense to treat people properly and to behave in a morale way. You might as well ask does a lack of common sense result in the belief in a god?

Nope. Religion is belief in an imaginary friend. Morality is a way of acting every day to deal with the good and the bad in the world.

Just the opposite. Religions are murderously intolerant of other belief systems. Violence is a key part of any religion. Remove religion and there are less things to fight about. Morality has nothing to do with religion. Is it moral for Christians to murder Doctors who perform abortion? How about the crusades? Jihad? Religion is twisted by whoever is in control and the morality espoused is whatever paradigm is convenient at the time.

it's this kind of idiotic logic that keeps you people from advancing intellectually. How many damn times do you have to be reminded that it's not up to atheists to prove god doesn't exist but that the burden of proof rests with those making the claim? Until you can prove empirically there is a god we are under no obligation to accept it and no amount of idiotic lame-brain examples designed to shame or force people into belief are going to work.

No. A lack of religion means that you actually need to consider the consequences of your actions. That is the only real source of morality.
The religious belief that actions should be based on whether they will cause God to reward you eternally in heaven or punish you eternally in hell is not morality.
Even dogs can learn to behave when they are bribed and rewarded for their actions. Humans should be capable of something more.

NO. Religion isn't supposed to be about doing good so you will get into heaven. What is noble about doing a good turn for something in exchange? It's supposed to teach you the reasons to be good and to want it with or without reward. Morality does not originate from religion.
