I'm not trying to be a smart a** here either its a serious question.

In the bible people say they speak to God etc hear him, if someone in our day and age now said they were instructed to write a second bible, they'd be called crazy. No one would believe that new bible.

If someone came back to earth calling himself jesus, you wouldn't believe him! (on this police show, which is a reality show, this guy claimed to be jesus)

So how would these "crazy" people be any different to the ones hundreds of years ago?

Exactly...

Homeless guy with a mental disorder "god talks to me"...

Pat Robertson who seems a little 'out there' "god talks to me"...

And the difference is....power, money, and the ability to get others to follow you?

God does not speak in an audible voice. God speaks by sort of telepathy, much as your conscience speaks to you. The show that you saw was describing a mentally ill person. Some mentally ill persons hear voices and believe it is God. When a person claims to be Jesus, and and they really are, they will always talk about things related to love, for that is what God is ---Pure love.

The hearing of strange voices . . . Those voices speaks to a persons mind and sense of self.

The ' hearing ' of God's ' voice ' . . . that ' voice ' whispers awake a person's soul to desire to listen.

A book is being written of Soul speech. Nice that you wonder of and show to know the difference of the voices you wrote of in you question here.

And ' crazy ' people ? There is a knowingness to the message being conveyed whether hundreds of years ago or now. Crazy or unique and enlightened ? People know.

I tell you, God's voice is not strange. If you hear his voice, you will some how recognize it. He is your father and your creator.
Jesus's second coming will not be like his first coming it will be the exact opposite. skies will split and the earth will shake, everyone on earth will drop and hear the trumpet of the angels.

God has a really deep voice, kind of like Mr. Ed. Remember that TV show? You'll just have a feeling when it's God. You'll just know.

I don't think that God acctualy speaks to people like we speak to each other becuase if he did then i bet we would be crazy. Maybe its more like you ask God a question and then you know the answer, or you pray for a miricle and it happens.

Well, it all really depends on what the voices are telling you to do. If they're telling you to go feed the poor and spread love throughout the world, then fantastic, you're probably getting messages from God. If they're telling you to shoot your neighbor's dog, then you should probably seek out your nearest therapist of spiritual counselor ASAP, who can help you to decide what to do next.

ill explain it like this, when you think of a word in your head or a sentence you have to repeat it inside and it is a voice inside of yourself. the bible says when we receive jesus christ the spirit of god comes inside of us and joins to our spirits, so sometimes when I pray to god, the little voice inside which is gods spirit can guide me. the problem is that i have to distinguish between my voice the voice of god and maybe the voice of the enemy who trys to deceive you. hope that helps, its not crazy, everyone has an inner voice just some dont have the spirits voice because they dont have Jesus.

Strange voices are most likely the demons, who, as the Apostle says, may pretend even to be "an angel of light".

You will KNOW when God speaks to you.

You would know God's voice by the calmness and serenity you would feel. You would know it to be true by your own inner feelings. But just voices would make you feel jittery and bad and tell you to do bad things.

When God speaks to me, I feel peace. When demons speak to me, it's to accuse me. I know what the source is, and it doesn't happen often, but it's never been audible to anyone else. Let's clear this one up now: if a voice tells you to kill your child or someone else, it's NOT coming from God. End of story.
