I have a box in which I keep all the letters and cards my boyfriend has sent me. I also keep Christmas cards till the next year so I don't miss anyone to whom I should return the favor. Other than that, I don't keep any, unless they are really and truly remarkable - then I keep them for fun.

I keep them for a lifetime. I use the same xmas cards year after year for decorations. I keep them so every so often when I read what people wrote I can remember them or the time they gave them to me. Im a packrat that way but a neat one at least. Just because you keep stuff doesn't mean you get overwhelmed if you know how to store stuff.

I'm not sentimental AT ALL so I tell my family & friends NOT to spend $3 on a card in the first place and call me instead. The ones I do get, I throw out after reading them.

bday cards get tossed in a couple of days, Christmas cards stay on the mantle until like new years then go in the recycling when the decorations get boxed up for the year.

I'm actually sentimental, so cards from close friends and family I keep and store in a box. Recently, I've finally gotten rid of cards from past girlfriends, since I'll be getting married in 3 months. I know she (my fiance) wouldn't want those things hanging around somewhere in our first home.

Not more than a week. If the pic is cute I'll hang on to it, but I've got grandchildren, and we use them for craft projects.
