Any of those store credit cards are allowed by law to charge enormous amounts for interest fees etc. That is why the stores badger you to get them because they make a lot of money on interest etc. You are better off just to have a bank visa or mastercard with a couple of thousand limit and pay it off every month.

There aren't any hidden charges. All charges are located in your cardmember agreement. Usually charges are a result of activity, i.e, late fee for paying late, overlimit fee for going overlimit. If you stay within the guidelines of the card, you'll only be responsible for interest. You can avoid the interest by paying your balance in full before the due date. Some of their cards have an annual fee but you should know that going in.

hsbc levy charges on everything which is why they make so many billions of dollars each year. Therefore there credit card will not be the best buy by far

I don't have any problems with them, but I see a lot of questions posted about them, so perhaps they do for certain kinds of cards that they offer.
