Hello, my name is Dahlia and I am located in Greneda in the west Indies. I am a student of spirituality and would like to learn more about the hindu scriptures...I know of some of the stories but need more in depth knowledge. Here is my problem. I have a hard time with the language and names that come up. I cannot pronounce them and quickly loose my concentration and am unable to continue.

Can you reccomend an online version of the scriptures that are easy to read?

Thank you!

I had the same problem in my religious studies classes. The Indian names are terribly long. What I did was take a long name and break it down of pronounceable 4 or 5 letters and written down in a column. This way makes it way easier; try it.

Example: Brihadaranyaka, which is part of the Shrouta Sutra Veda.

Bri
had
aran
yaka

Although this is an easier one, you get the mechanics.

Hindu scriptures are a vast treasure. It is not that easy to fathom the deeps and understand it.They are not like Tarzan or Robin hood stories. One should make a serious attempt and pursue It as profession to understand them.
My suggestion is one should make a visit to India and spend 1 or 2 years in a holy place and observe how the people conduct themselves. Then it becomes easy to understand the scriptures.Merely by reading books one may land no where.
