I would say men as do women move through stages.
In middles school, its all about budding sexuality...so the girls with the most developed breasts.
In HS, I dated girls that I found pretty...focusing less on body and more on face.
In college, I dated women I found interesting, not necessarily the prettiest.
I wound up marrying my neighbor, a foreign student from Indonesia. She was and still is the most beautiful, smart, funny woman I have ever met. Oh, I dated her because she had an incredible personality, funny and extremely smart (she now has an MST...Master of Science in Taxation).
