I'm not sure why there are people bashing your boyfriend. You're questioning him clearing MEPS, he's not looking for an out from what you are saying. --so relax people--
Anyhow, they retest as equipment can fail and more importantly, people make mistakes.
I know someone who went to MEPS and was told that they were color blind and couldn't get the MOS they wanted as a result. It turned out that their (the tester's) form had the wrong number on it or something and the tester hadn't bothered to look at the test themselves. She knew something was up when the girl next to her in line also came up color blind (only 0.5% of women in the US are color blind).
All tests of this type have review protocols in place to catch these errors.

If he failed a his hearing test at MEPS, most likely it's not a big deal. The military can provide waivers for things such as loss of hearing, and less than perfect vision so that those who wish to serve may do so. The only catch... he may be disqualified from certain jobs that require his hearing to be top notch.

Hearing test are very subjective, especially those administered while wearing headphones in loud places like meps.
He probably had a borderline reading at meps, that showed at time's he heard certain frequency and at other times did not hear the same frequency's.
When I took my discharge physical, I flunked the hearing test bigtime the first time they gave it to me, but passed the second time.
Sounds like you don't really support your boyfriend wanting to enlist.

is he just now enlisting ? ...until he takes the oath of enlistment he can walk away at anytime and say he changed his mind...don't let them convince him otherwise...something doesn't sound right like you said if he failed 2 hearing tests and passed 1...he should be retested again in my opinion...hearing is very important in armed services...and if he can't hear the commands clearly he will have a problem later on....WHAT IF THE SERVICE MAKES HIS HEARING LOSS WORSE ? they could kick him out of the service and he won't be able to get assistance for the disability since they will say it was a pre-exisitng

the army does in comparison to DRUGGIES. at first i'm in, in Iraq, so don't get pissy. the common and AIT or education technique once you're given loose time you have the skill to do undesirable issues like drugs or hookers. in case you do the 1st you would be caught and maximum possibly kicked out or caught in the worst places on earth as a low score soldier. It sucks have self belief me. the 2d gives you you something a techniques worse, yuck. ok so lower back to the difficulty to hand you ought to make the determination drugs or the militia via fact in case you are trying the two i think of you're putting your self up for failure. I hate seeing young babies are available and finally end up leaving with a decrease than honorable discharge. think of roughly it then connect no longer any incorrect way around.

Because it is a volunteer system now, so people applying really want in . . .
They make allowances because the person is serious about joining , he wasn't being drafted, he wanted In.

Your boyfriend should be aware of
915. ART 115. MALINGERING
Any person subject to this chapter who for the purpose of avoiding work, duty, or service--
(1) feigns illness, physical disablement, mental lapse or derangement; or
(2) intentionally inflects self-injury;
shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.
It sounds like he is a loser.
