How about one question at a time. According to the Hebrew Bible God used the kingdoms of Assyria and Babylon to punish the people of Israel And God used Cyrus of Persia to rescue the people of Israel. The understanding was that God can use whomever or what ever he wants to accomplish his ends. In another story, Joseph's brothers kidnap him and sell him into slavery. He is sold into the court of the Egyptian Pharaoh and becomes a powerful official. When there is a famine in his home country Joseph is able to provide his people with food from the surplus created by Joseph's good management. When the brothers figure out who Joseph is and they grovel and apologize for the way they treated him he tells them you meant it for evil but God meant it for good. So yes, according to the Bible you don't have to be a believer or even a very nice person to be used to do God's work. You would have to ask a disciple of Buddha or Krishna if they have people doing their work. As for your last question I think you are just being silly.

What exactly is "God's work"? You can do good things without believing in God but that won't matter. Doing good things alone isn't good enough. You have to believe in God as well. That's just my opinion.

I'm not exactly sure how Christians and Jews do things but that's the way it is in Islam.
