This weekend there was a large anti-war protest in Washington DC and a smaller counter protest that was in favor of the war. A soldier that was supporting the troops in Iraq was spit on by several anti-war protesters. The threw garbage at him and called him a murderer. Is this the attitude of the anti-war, left wing in America now?

That makes me SICK!!! Do they really think they are making a difference?? Idiots!!! Anyone that supports people like that deserve to be hung like SADDAM!!!! And I THANK the military men and women who make sacrifices such as giving their lives, limbs, sight etc so that I am ABLE to speak my mind!!! If they want to protest, they should go to Iraq and do it...that way the terrorists can have them! It just disgusts me!!! If they are so about keeping the peace, they sure have a funny way to show it...all I can say, if I had been there our country would have witnessed a SERIOUS A@@ whoopin'...anyone out there protesting against our brave men and women SERVING OUR COUNTRY...YOU ARE WORTHLESS AND IGNORANT!!! But you just might make a great punching bag!!

If I was at the protest and saw the spitting, I would now be in jail. I would have 'fist & furied' those who spitted and threw garbage at the vet. I too am anti-war, but I support the troops!

I don't protest anything because the more energy we put into anything the more it grows so that would not help things. I am a liberal who believes it is immoral to go to war & I believe prayer would have shown us a better way to solve things. I also believe Michael Moore showed us that the Bush's & Bin laden were in this together. There is a lot of evidence of that. I also trust my intuition/my inner guidance system & know this war started over money for the richs people and he robbing of our country. None of that has to do with Obama. He has advisors & his job is to hear what expersts say & then decide. He is listening to the advisors & as he trust them I trust him. What could racism have to do with any of this? If you mean libs like a black Pres. over a white one that is ridiculous. Do you know what racism is? Bush does not come from a race that has been oppressed.

Wow unbelievable, as if the poor guy had any say so in if he was going to Iraq or not. Whether or not you support the war is fine but spitting on soldiers, now that's a bit too far. Do people not understand soldiers are given orders that they must follow. Honestly, that's their job and there are harsh punishments for insubordination. And anyway the poor guy lost his leg come on. If you don't agree with the war express your anti-war sentiment appropriately or at least lash out on the appropriate authorities, lol.

Technically they didn't break any laws so they can't be jailed, but it's just disrespect for your country. Those people have no morals what so ever and shouldn't be so ignorant. The soldier was just trying to defend his country and in return, he gets spit on. Protest all you want, but don't go and spit on someone that's protecting you and your family.

I love this country and the freedom of speech, but spitting on someone, especially a service member, isn't covered by the constitution. Not only that, it's down right rotten. This brother of mine has fought and sacrificed bravely in the war against terrorism, comes home to his family, and this is the thanks he gets. Unlike some people in the country, he was following orders and doing his job.

This SOB is just lucky I wasn't there. No one spits on one of my brothers and gets away with it.

I also agree that a person can't protest with a broken jaw...or broken arms and legs for that matter ;-)

People that spit on the people who fight for their freedoms should be cast out and never allowed back into the country. I am going back a third time. Send them to iraq and see if their attitude changes.

Remember, every group has a few radicals on the fringes. I am not anti-war, but I am an American and try not to judge, or restrict free speech of a group because they have a handful of lunatics/criminals. I think most anti-war people are not following that particular attitude.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on things. But spitting on a soldier is just childish. Spitting on ANYONE is childish. The soldier was doing his job. And that is being a soldier. How would any of you feel if you were spit on just for doing your job?
