Have it yet?.. Hundreds of thousands have been "beta testing" for a couple of years.
Is it out?.... Yes, brand new!
Worth it?... That's up to you. Here's my thoughts...

If you believe in Bill Gates and his technical predictions, "the pace of technological change over the next decade would be dramatically faster than anything ever seen before..." Gates predicts digital media as the emphasis for the "technical change" and media convergence as the solution. Vista is said to completely integrate all ones digital media including voice, data, video and music.... Completely! But then again XP Media Edition does too.

Also, Vista has been developed over the last few years under the beta name "Longhorn". (If my memory serves me right, Vista was first planned to be released last April '06.) The Vista software has been subject to a number of delays. Beta users of software test products before their full commercial release in an effort to uncover problems. Vista's (Microsoft) developers have placed quality foremost. This has slowed the release but insured a more stable OS.

My opinion is that Vista is "worth it" when purchasing a new pc however I'd stick with XP if your not shopping.

It came out today. As an old Computer Field Service Engineer, I recommend staying with what you have for at least 6 months. I suspect Microsoft is already working on SP1 for Vista.
