1 c Ketchup
1 tb White vinegar
1 tb Lemon juice

SLOPPY JOE MIX
2 pound ground beef
2 cup chopped onion
4 teaspoon beef bouillon crystals
4 teaspoon prepared yellow mustard
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup butter
1 tsp. salt
1/4 cup steak sauce
In a large skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat, about 5 minutes. Add onion and continue cooking for another 5 minutes. Sprinkle bouillon over meat mixture and enough water to barely cover meat. Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered, until water has cooked away, about 30 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients and serve hot over hamburger buns.

Hi,
I saute an onion and add a little garlic powder to the chopped meat. Make sure the meat is fully cooked before adding the sauce.
For a great, but unauthentic sauce, mix 1/2 cup hot water with 1/2 cup brown sugar (dark is better, but light brown works in a pinch). Add 1 cup catsup and you're done! This is for about 2 pounds of meat.
Fool around with the amounts to suit your taste. Enjoy!

The easiest way is to go to the grocery store and buy a dry mix for Sloppy Joes. This will be in the soup or spice section. On the back of the spice package will be a simple recipe.

This one is if you dont like to find chunks of onions or anything in your sloppy joes.... it has a bit of a mildly sweet taste because of the sugar, but not too sweet... a bit of a twist because of the vinegar...
My family loves it for tacos as well...
1 cup ketchup/tomato sauce
2 Tbsp sugar
1 Tbsp vinegar
2 Tbsp mustard

I would strongly recommend against it. The least that will likely happen is diarrhea and stomach pain. They just weren't designed to handle foods like that. There was a lady whose miniature (which isn't too tiny... bigger than toy) poodle died in the animal hospital I worked at just because he had a half of one of those miniature breakfast sausages. And it wasn't a sick dog. His stomach flipped on it. I wouldn't risk it. Just give him his regular treats. The other reason I hate doing that is my Mom can't be persuaded to listen when it comes to her basset hounds and now her Oscar howls and growls when people are over for dinner. I'm not kidding. It's hard to hold a conversation haha. My little guys just eat dog food, unseasoned meat, the occasional plain egg and that's it. You can switch around food brands too if the dog is on a grain-free food. I've seen dogs on grain foods get pukey from switching around though. :o

My grandmom always used catchup, brown sugar, and a squeeze of mustard. That was it. She browned the ground beef up with diced onion and pepper. It made a classic BBQ/sloppy joe. As far as amounts...who knows! Grandmas never measure, hence, I never do. It will "look" right and you will know.
