In my opinion Science Diet is the best! I think Friskies is ok if that is what you choose to feed your cat. I go by what my vet has told me and by testing it myself. I used to feed my cat 9-lives and they had dull coats, now they are very shiney and soft and i do believe it is better for their digestive system. I know it made the litter box smell less also!

Some cats are just lucky. Friskies is not the best - its mediocre food and uses by-products rather then real meat. However, its not that bad if you add in higher quality food too. I have to admit that the ONLY Friskies I do use and its not often is the country style or mixed grill. There is not a lot of the higher quality canned foods that have beef and while Friskies is not real beef I still will put in a can or two - so it ends up on rotation as the 5th can or so (maybe once a week). I also feed raw chicken and beef, when I have the Friskies they will get extra raw beef in that meal :)

Its pretty poor but with cats, its more of feeding them what they like and what they do best on than the lengths you have to go for dogs. Whiskas, Friskies, Purina, Science Diet, Iams, all that is low quality food because it has corn in it as a main ingredient. Cats are carniovres so in all actuality, they should be eating a cat food that has a specific meat source as a main ingredient and NO CORN. Cats though are much more picky than dogs and will waste away before eating something they hate (the majority of high quality food is less flavorful). If you want to go about feeding a better dry cat food, shop around and expieriment but dont force it. You usually have to go to a petsupply store or feed store to get the really good cat foods. If not, then keep them on what they are on now, IF they are doing good on it and are healthy. However, give them wet food as well or even better cooked or raw meat in addition to the dry food. good luck!

This answer will depend on you and the health of your cat... everyone has an idea of what is good and bad.. as you can see each one different... Dont believe a word of it.. any cat food that you buy is fine for your cat unless it has health issues, then a talk with your vet is what you need.. all cat food is fine and will not hurt your cat in the least.. many people will give you horror stories of what happened to them when their kitty ate such or other food.. but that is them and not you... it all depends on you and your kitty.. find one that they like to eat and one that is a balanced diet... no matter what the brand.. and no matter what anyone else says all cat food are about the same... NEVER give your cat RAW meat.... enjoy... :)

One of my cats can eat anything and be fine....the other has a "delicate" stomach; she cannot eat any poor quality food ( friskies, 9-lives, meow-mix....all caused smelly loose stools and vomit ) I have success only with Science Diet and a brand I found at the supermarket called Natural Choice. Both these seem to sit well with her.

I haven't had a cat in years but I remember when we did, our cats developed painful kidney stones from eating only dry kibble. From then on we had to feed them fresh beef heart meat which was kind of expensive. I think you should mix in canned cat food occasionally with the kibble to avoid problems. I think Friskies is as good as any major brand.

Friskies is the McDonalds of the cat food world. Nutro is my favorite food for the cats. It has more digestable ingredients in it than Friskies, which means that the cats are better able to process the food, which means more absorbtion of the nutrients, which in turn means smaller, less stinky poop. Also it helps them to shed less.

Friskies is considered poor... it's really fattening too. Most cat food bought at the grocery stores are fatty.
