Instead of goody bags buy some inexpensive gifts that this agegroup would like. Play some games like whoever gets the first strike whens a prize or whoever gets the most strikes win etc. There are a lot of things you can do at a bowling party.
At this age they are too old for a goody bag.....If anything pass out snacks. All kids at this age like candy or junkfood!

25 people seems like an awful lot. How do you get rid of most of the people at the end of the party, so just a few can sleep over, without hurting anyone's feelings? A BBQ is a good way to inexpensively feed that many people (assuming the weather is nice enough) - if you fill them up on chips and salsa, they won't eat as much of the relatively more expensive meat you're serving. What about some sort of treasure hunt in the back yard, or a scavenger hunt around the neighborhood? (During daylight hours so your neighbors don't freak out)? Inexpensive prizes but something kids would enjoy - a $5 bill hidden here, a $10 Itunes gift cert hidden there, a couple little boxes of chocolates, a funny book. You could make it Indiana Jones or The Mummy 3 themed. If you have piles of leaves around, it's easy to hide treasures under the leaves (in a Ziplock if necessary). Some sort of group cooking activity - a sushi rolling contest, or cupcake decorating contest (the boys might not think that's cool though), or karaoke indoors once the BBQ is over and it's too cold to be outside? (Depending on your particular kids/friends they might think karaoke is very cool or very lame, though!) A group Wii game?

Both my girls have always had friends that were boys and always had both girls and boys at their parties. My 12 year old goes to these parties often and many times there is no "goody" bag because the party provides pizza and soda usually. If she does get one, it's candy. With a bowling party, you are already paying for the bowling and most likely some sort of food so a goody bag is not necessary.

I wouldn't do goody bags, just have drinks available. It would be good to have things like nachos that you could keep putting more out. Maybe a plate of quesadillas or giant pretzels and mustard.
If she's turning twelve, the boys and girls are probably afraid of each other and don't want to mix. You can mix everyone up, or you're going to end up with two separate groups.

We had a bowling party for my boys last year(8 and 9)they too had both boys and girls there. We bowled 2 games. I had a basket with a bunch of little things (nail polish, lip glosses, bounchy balls those big baloons w/the rubberband ex...you can get tons of stuff at the dollar store or walmart for cheap). When the kids threw a strike or spare they got to pick something out of the basket. We also found four gifts (I think it was a remote controll car and dance mat but cant remember the other 2) I found them on clearance at walmart for about $5 each we gave those to the winners(1boy, 1girl)of each game. We also got french fry baskets for them to eat while we played. AFter that it was the normal cake and ice cream and open presents. The kids had a blast!! Hope this helps!!

Forget the goodie bags. They are too old for that. Have your daughter list six or seven of her favorite songs. Burn them onto 10 CD's and give them to the guests. They each will get a CD and chances are they all like the same music.
Your daughter can decorate the CD's using colorful markers to give each CD it's own flare....and maybe even personalize it with the guest's name.
Put each CD in a colored jewel case so it can be transported safely and without getting scratched. Your daughter could even decorate the CD case!!

If you have booked a bowling party and they are catering for it then they normally supply the goody bags.

12 is the age in which pre-teens are embarrassed about pretty much everything like goody bags. Pizza, cake, nachos, and ice-scream would be great.
