There are many examples, but here's a simple one.

In many Christian paintings, saints and angels are often drawn with halos on their heads. The idea of using halos actually derives from worship of the sun :)

In my opinion, people basically took many pagan ideas of that time, mixed it with Jesus' teachings (perhaps his Jewish family values), and called it Christianity.

That isn't a bad thing, but its evidence that Christianity is not a totally unique religion.

Your thoughts?

I think Christianity began when Jesus began gathering followers, or when the Bible was finally written. Many people know that alot of Christian traditions, like Christmas, come from Pagan traditions, but that's the work of the church. They always mixed the two, to try and make Paganism vanish.

These things are all true, including the birth of Christ which is the winter solstice of Pagan religions, but the point is, who really cares about what religion came first... or i guess I should say, why does it matter? For those that have strong faith in Chrisitaity, these stories mean something to them, and it isn't a bad thing, nor should it be taken away from them. What matters is what makes you happy and what fulfills your life and if Christianity is what makes you happy, I'm happy.
