I love how the other answers say 'umm, good question...I think it's China'... It's not even close!!! there are several countries that are more populous than the USA...China is one of the biggest at over FOUR TIMES the population of the USA!
Let's take a look at the figures (approximate data from 2006)
China 1.3 Billion
USA 300 Million
Add in another 20 million illegals to the USA and it should be about right for a current estimate.
India is also bigger at 1.1 Billion

WAY more in China! In July, 2006 china had an estimated population of 1,313,973,713. The same month of the same year there were an estimated 298,444,215 in the United States of America.
