Everybody will come back from the dead at the end. Those that have put faith in Christ will be raised to life in his awesome world, the others thrown into the lake of fire for rejecting him. Not necessarily comforting.

Te resurrection in Jesus would be great because then you'll get to explore the wonders and sciences of the universe in immortal bodies. Activities in the NEW Earth:
1. Build your own home and plant your own garden (Isaiah 65:21, 22)
2. Have a city mansion built by Christ (John 14:1-3.)
3. Sing and play heavenly music (Isaiah 35:10; 51:11; Psalm 87:7; Revelation 14:2, 3).
4. Worship before God's throne every Sabbath (Isaiah 66:22, 23).
5. Enjoy never-fading flowers and trees (Ezekiel 47:12; Isaiah 35:1, 2).
6. Meeting loved ones, patriarchs, prophets, angels etc. (Matthew 8:11; Revelation 7:9-17).
7. Study the animals of heaven (Isaiah 11:6-9; 65:25).
8. Fly and explore wonders of the universe without getting tired (Isaiah 40:31).
9. Listen to God sing (Zephaniah 3:17).
10. Realize fondest ambitions (Psalm 37:3, 4; Isaiah 65:24).
11. Being with Jesus (Revelation 14:4; 22:4; 21:3; 1 John 3:2).
I think it would be cool to have a pet lion because it would be a vegetarian. Listening to God sing would be interesting too. Oh, and flying would be fun too.

I would say it would be hard for someone to tell you this if they didn't know you well and your situation. I know that I look forward to living with loved ones forever after death but that is because I know they are a Christian. I do know that no matter what happens in that in the next life...
Revelation 21:4
He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

The Bible teaches that the dead “are conscious of nothing at all.” They are not alive and have no conscious existence anywhere. The account of Lazarus confirms this. Upon returning to life, did Lazarus thrill people with descriptions of heaven? Or did he terrify them with horrible tales about a burning hell? No. The Bible contains no such words from Lazarus. During the four days that he was dead, he had been “conscious of nothing at all.” (Ecclesiastes 9:5) Lazarus had simply been sleeping in death.—John 11:11.
.....The account of Lazarus also teaches us that the resurrection is a reality, not a mere myth. Jesus raised Lazarus in front of a crowd of eyewitnesses. Even the religious leaders, who hated Jesus, did not deny this miracle. Rather, they said: “What are we to do, because this man [Jesus] performs many signs?” (John 11:47) Many people went to see the resurrected man. As a result, even more of them put faith in Jesus. They saw in Lazarus living proof that Jesus was sent by God. This evidence was so powerful that some of the hardhearted Jewish religious leaders planned to kill both Jesus and Lazarus.—John 11:53; 12:9-11.
The Bible’s resurrection accounts teach us much about the resurrection to come. People who were restored to life right here on earth were reunited with their loved ones. The future resurrection will be similar—but much better. God’s purpose is that the whole earth be made into a paradise. So the dead will not be raised to life in a world filled with war, crime, and sickness. They will have an opportunity to live forever on this earth in peaceful and happy conditions.
....Who will be resurrected? Jesus said that “all those in the memorial tombs will hear his [Jesus’] voice and come out.” (John 5:28, 29) Similarly, Revelation 20:13 says: “The sea gave up those dead in it, and death and Hades gave up those dead in them.” “Hades” refers to the common grave of mankind. This collective grave will be emptied. All those billions who rest there will live again. The apostle Paul said: “There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” (Acts 24:15)

The same as any belief for religion that believes the consciousness or the spirit live on after death. It's not complicated.

There is not a better way. Jesus gives everyone the chance to come to him. If a family member does not it was their choice. I am not trying to discredit the fact that this is a very painful fact that can happen and does all the time. Thats why those who believe in the bible need to be preaching it and telling people about Jesus so they have the chance.

Any afterlife, not just the Christian one, is a comforting thought for children. The other day my nephew asked his mother where his grandma went and he smiled at the idea of heaven. I think it's better then saying, "noone can ever know", or "back into the earth" or "they're gone, end of story."

Life everlasting in the presence of God. "This is eternal life, that they may know Thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom Thou has sent" (John 17:3).
There are two senses in which this is used. First, as Christians we possess eternal life (1 John 5:13), yet we are not in heaven or in the immediate presence of God. Though we are still in mortal bodies and we still sin, by faith we are saved (Rom. 4:5; Eph. 2:8-9) and possess eternal life as a free gift from God (Rom. 6:23). Second, eternal life will reach its final state at the resurrection of the believers when Christ returns to earth to claim His church. It is then that eternal life will begin in its complete manifestation. We will no longer sin.

This says it all:
1 Thess. 4: 13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. 15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.
