I've just lost a family member that I see everyday for 20 years and have been living together with since I was born. I love her more than any other soul in the entire world. How could you possibly carry on? I don't think this despair will ever go away...

no it wont go away, but the hurt will lessen abit as the days go by. When a love one pass on , you have to start cherish all the memories you have of this person. you carry on with your life and live for both of you. The journey does not end for you and neither it end for your love one. you are just on a different path. Someday your path shall cross again , and you need to accumulate more good memories to share when that time comes.

know that if this person could say one thing to you right now it would be something like:

"I love you, I'm sorry I had to leave you so soon. I have taught you everything I could and I know you are strong enough to carry on without me. Carry me in your heart and live your life as you would if I was here to be by your side. You are destined for great things so dont use my loss as an excuse to not give everything you have to your life. Find a new love, carry on. I am ok and you will be too."

It's hard. I lost my great grandma who had a hand in raising me. I suggest you get into counseling. There are also groups for people who have lost loved ones. Sometimes it's nice to know that others have lost loved ones and can understand what you're going through.

Are you talking about your sister? You never said. I know that it's unbearable pain, my husband lost his daughter, my step-daughter. I really didn't realize how deeply it affected my son, they fought all the time. One thing that I can tell you though, is as long as you live in that house, you won't be able to get past this, to many memories looking at you every day.I know that this sounds crazy, but I really think its true

This person obviously cared tons for you and wouldn't want you to be upset. Try not to remember the death, but more of the things that make you happy about this person. I'm not saying to forget about it, but not to think too much about it. Hope I helped!

first, i am so sorry about your loss. losing someone you love is very difficult, especially when you have spent so much time with them.

only time makes it hurt less. i wish i had better advice, but time is what helps.
