Just pay the ticket. Even though no one was working, if there are signs posted saying 'construction zone', then the speed is reduced and the fines are usually double the normal amount. I wouldn't waste my time going to court, they'll just make you pay it anyway.

You have got to either be kidding or have the worst possible luck on drawing an anal policeman for tagging you FOUR miles per hour over the limit!! (or did you mean some Route #79?)
Assuming the last part... since the first makes no sense.
You WERE speeding - right? In California that automatically doubles the fine without regard to active construction.. just like a school zone with no kids in sight.
If you go to court you may be able to get traffic school and avoid the points, but you are going to get stuck with the fine.
NOW.. if by the wierdest strech of the immagination you DID get tagged for 4 mph over, then you may want to have your speedometer checked... sometimes you get a report that it is good to +/- x mph and that's your ticket to a better day since it would have read 75 while you blazed down the highway with that wanton disregard for speed.
good luck

I don't think you're chances are too good on this one...first of all, you were speeding either way (if I understood that right, you were going 79 in a 75??), construction or no construction...second, the speed limit in construction zones is usually 35 even if there is no one working. I hope everything works out for you!!

Don't go to court because you might loose and then they will take off points off of your drivers license. Especially in a construction zone where the fine might end up being double.
